Mine has swirls on it where someone "cleaned" it with the wrong stuff. I have cleaned it wiht all kinds of stuff and it still has them. I have learned to live with them. The only other alterative is to cover it or replace it. Good Luck!

By the feel of the panels, it seems like the panels have that rubbery coating on them. You could strip down the rubbery stuff, apply an adhesion promoter (DupliColor available at most auto parts stores), and then use a matte black paint. Duplicolor also makes a good trim paint, which give a matte finish.

I believe the dealer did this for me (not sure exactly what they used) but all the scratches that were there when I first looked at it are now gone and it looks like new

there is always a dash cap from the bug dash. Then you can prevent them from happening any further.

Since this was brought up to hawk a product I will give my thoughts.

I found a great and easy way to remove the rubbery coating with very little effort. Take an old sock...you know, an old, holey and lonely sock who lost it's mate to the sock monster...soak it in isopropyl alcohol and go to town. Comes right off with very little effort and no scratches to the plastic.

Some people recommend Krylon Fusion to get a close to factory look, but I think it is far too shiny. Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Flat Black paint is much closer to the original look.
