Default painting the interior

i am painting my interior black and orange, but am having trouble getting the primer and paint or adhere to some of the plastic peices such as the trim around the wound button and peices like that. anybody got any ideas on how to solve this.

well, not sure what a "wound button" is, but make sure you get any of the rubber coating stuff of.. if there's any of that left, the paint will bubble, peel, and not stick.

are you just taking the parts off and paiting them. you have to prep your parts. Scratch the surface with scotch bright or a realy fine sandpaper like 400 grit. Make sure you clean the surface off. I use a foam type glass cleaner and it works well.

Yes, I went to town on them :-) Many pad changes though. the key is to take your time, and do not get impatient and say (it is just a little bit here and there) I sanded it down all the way to the plastic...

Yes the door handle does come apart. I don't have pictures of it but I did take mine apart and painted them as well, if you look at it closely you will see how it comes apart.

thanks oldbugman, when it warms up again and i can resume work on this project, i will look nice and hard as to figure out how to get it apart. that is a huge monkey of my back, because that was my biggest worry as to how i was going to remove/repaint it.
