Default Cabrio hood lubrification help needed ...

Hello, i`m new to the forum and i`m in Portugal, just recently bought a 2004 New Beetle Cabrio TDI 100HP and everyone tells me i should periodically lubrificate the hood components but i really don`t know where to start, can someone please give me a hint on how to do it and what parts to lubrificate and what is the best product to do it??? Thank a lot.

If someone knows some video about this issue please let me know.

Im not aware of any points on the hood that need lubrication, but if there referring to the hood struts, hinges, & hood lock assembly. then sure lube them it couldn't hurt. I would probably get some pneumatic lube or hydraulic fluid and wipe the exposed metal of the strut with a rag just give it a light coat on the rag and wipe. as far as the hinges and lock assembly I would use royal purple maxi film Royal Purple Protect Parts once again but you spray this stuff on and make sure to use a rag or two and keep it from spraying every where and then wipe the excess fluid off the hinges and lock assembly. reason for wiping is to keep it from getting everywhere and it helps to keep the dirt down and off of it. just do this regularly and you should have the sweetest hinges, lock assembly, and struts in town.

P.S if you cant find royal purple any other lubricating lube should work. you could use grease for the hinges and lock assembly but I would use the lube since the parts are still attached to the car. grease them if you ever remove them to rebuild it.
