Painting In Los Angeles area

I am in serious need of a paint job for my car, only issue is (as it is with most things), is money. I am wondering if anyone know of a painter who does moonlighting work after hours that would be happy to accept cash. I've considered making the necessary investment in purchasing a gun myself and shooting the car but I've never done prep work as well as paint a car and I admit it does make me a bit nervous. I do have a full size compressor that runs 220 so that part wouldn't be a problem.
