Default Y2K Red Color Question

Ok, so my understanding is that VW calls the red used on the Y2K Beetle "Salsa Red". A review of DupliColor calls it "Tornado Red" (Part #s VW02037 or 8802037). What I am wondering is what color Krylon/Rustoleum/Etc. would most closely match? I have a couple of projects that I want to work on that don't necessarily require the color to be 100% the same.

FYI: The red on the 2000 Beetle is just called "Red". Salsa red and Tornado red weren't until later.

98 to 04 I think beetles were just red as gina said, in german its called rot uni (one red) and I believe the vw paint code is LG3L but don't hold me to that its been awhile

I found a color that is almost identical to the VW Red. It's Sunrise Red by RustOleum (RustOleum.com)

The breakdown is kind of like this:

1998 - Tornado Red (so I've heard)
1999-2004 - Uni Red
2005 - Tornado Red
2006-Current - Salsa Red

Try inquiring with the local parts department, I purchased spray cans of Tornado Red this way before.

BTW - I'm not painting anything that was already painted red - this is for the engine cover, door handles, center consol, etc.
