Default Touch up paint

Hi,

I have a silver/green chromaflair beetle with a few rock chips on the hood. I was wondering if there was any touch up paint available for that color through the dealer or anywhere like that?

I've gotten touch up paint through the dealer before. Its a bit pricey, but since you have a chromaflair, that might be the only place to get it. I know PaintScratch.com usually has paint for the NBs but not sure about the chromaflair.

I have a '99 NB and am presently repairing a front end riddled with "road rash" as we call it. I am using a product made by Dr.Colorchip. They have a website drcolorchip.com. When you get to their website they will ask for make, model year and it will show the colors offered for that year. They make up custom paint in your color. It's great!

I have done my chips (which were many) and am starting to repair my friends car. I think this is a great product and will work for most people. Give it a try.

Good luck!

you can try this place too, i got my paint there 2-3 months ago and it was a good match Volkswagen Beetle Touch Up Paint

it should run you around $15 for the paint, not too expensive.

just make sure you know your color code though

I've always found that the main Dealers "Touch-up" paint is far cheaper than any 3rd party stockists

The trouble i always find is when applying the base paint (You get the base and the clear coat) that one tiny drop and it's higher than the original paint. Let it dry and it's still higher. So adding the top Clear Coat to an allready oversized blob is

lofl

yup, that's why you have to put on VERY little and then try to spread it out. I have seen videos on youtube where people use a toothpick to put the paint on then used the brush to spread it out.

My boyfriend is in auto body school and he knows all the little tricks to make it smooth and not even noticeable. He told me if I can find the paint, he'd do the work. Hopefully this process wont be to hard. If I don't do something soon the rock chips will be taking over my hood. They seem to be growing lol!

Does anyone happen to know the color code for the silver green chromaflair package?

Haha, It wouldn't hurt to respray the whole car but I'm to much of a chicken that it won't turn out right! Hopefully in about a year, when I graduate nursing school, I'll have a new car.

the first week I got my 08 NB in September 2008, I was driving behind a big truck that didn't have a cover over the GRAVEL in its bed.
a big huge rock flew out and made a dent/scratch in the hood.
I was devastated.
we went to the dealer and bought touch-up paint.
I had my brother use it on the scratch and afterward looked worse than the scratch/dent itself.
now I have an 01 NB with some scratches and I don't dare use touch-up paint.
I used some clear-coat scratch concealer or whatever on small scratches and it worked pretty well.

I went to Ebay, and found excatly what VW sells. The reason I know is my friend Jonk came for a visit and he had bought some from VW, and mine was exactly like it. You have to have your VIN number ready. I paid a tad over twenty bucks for the paint and a clear coat one. Good luck!
