Exclamation looking to protect my new piant job....

I'm about to go pick up my baby from the body shop first thing tomorrow morning, had an accident back in March involving the rear end of a 2007 Ford focus and the front of my 2003 Turbo S.. needless to say the focus won.. the battle not the war! lol but since i had the car reapid and repainted i was wondering if any one knew where i could get an "invisible" bra for him cause the roads where i live (norfolk VA) arent the best especially the interstates... any suggestions on how to get a protectant would be very helpful! (ive already tried the stealership and they told me they dont make them for my car..)

below are some pics of the damage and the inprocess of the fix

ill post the after pics when after i go to pick him up tomorrow!

I know of a place that does the " invisible bra " for the bonnet

However, since you've had the respray your either going to hide it in the garage at your place or never drive it. Stone chips are going to haunt you And an invisible bra won't protect you against a collision

Still want the bra

lol well the ad for the one that i had seen at the dealer (price range for it was $550+ depending on the car and weatehr or not u wanted the headlights done) said it protected against stone chips and such and i know accidents are some times un avoidable... but id rather not buy one of those black bras cause they mask the aweseomness that is the Turbo S haha whats this place called?

There are advertisers all over the internet who do this work. I can't believe that they ONLY do this in California. You're gonna have to do your homework on this one. There have got to be high end shops in your neck of the woods who do this.

Now, having detailed multiple cars with the invisible bra on it, I want to tell you to be aware of something. it protects your paint, but the vinyl itself gets little abrasions from rocks and debris. But yeah, it does keep your paint from being thrashed. If you ever wanted to sell the car you could take the bra off and have a clean front end. The little dents and abrasions in the vinyl show up mostly on white, silver and other light colored paint. Dark paint colors, you're in better shape.

Having seen these bras after being on the car for awhile, I would buy the black vinyl bra. Unless that's a look you absolutely hate, I'd consider that option. MUCH cheaper, and you can take it off sometimes and put it back on for road trips. Just a thought.

Not to mention the de-colorisation of the original paint after 2-3 years

Most window tint shops (reputable ones) have the ability to do it. Not sure how much$$ I've heard of a few clear bras that allow the paint to "breathe" and fade with the unprotected paint?? Not sure if I believe it, but if they said it, it HAS to be true right

Contact a good/high end deatil shop in your area. Usually a detail shop will have a subcontract with an installer of that type of stuff. I used to deal with a guy that installed 3M. It was great stuff. It is expensive but its worth every penny. New paint will be soft for a few weeks to months so it will chip easilly.
