Question Adding Decals - Pros or Cons?

Wondering if anyone has advice and/or opinions on adding Decals to a NB.

Would you add them? Have any experience with them?

There are some kits on ETSY.com with flowers to put over the body that are supposed to be durable for car washes and difficult to remove (but can be removed with some work).

Folks from my local club swear by vinyl. We've had at least 3 or 4 cars that change theirs out every few years.

Only caution is if you put vinyl on a car that easily fades.
One of our members had vinyl flames on the front of their Cyber Green for a few years...when he peeled them off the portion under the stickers was still bright while the rest was faded.

Oh that's good to know. I wonder if I'm pretty safe to assume that since it's 2001 and black it's probably faded as much as it's going to now.

i love my decals! the only problem i had was on the decals for the emblems as some of the pieces came off, but that was because the emblems still had that plastic stuff on them that was cracking & peeling. So as long as what you are applying the decals to is not damaged you should be good to go!

A friend of mine works at a shop that makes decals for cars. So I had her make me some custom Hello Kitty ones and mail them to me.

I use the pressure washer on my car and they've never come off. If I ever want to remove them she said to just peel them off gently, and use goo-gone to remove any residue. They rewrap company vehicles all the time so I'm not too worried.

Which might be cool if that's what you're going for -- two tone in the same color. I keep hoping to spy Charlie based on the stripes being brighter than the rest of the green. still don't know where he is.

Thumbs up

Yep they're from tonyabug. I did see yours on the site but didn't realize they were from the same person - cool!

Here's the ones I'm thinking of:

Flower Decals

Trying to decide on a blue or a purple - or two-toned blue or two-toned purple. Guess that will really decide the fate of my car in terms of colors!

Purple is my favorite color but I think Blue will be easier to match - decisions, decisions!

A little off-topic but since you're all here: I'm noticing my signature is missing now. Did I break the rules by adding one too early or adding a link to my site? I was looking for the forum rules on this and didn't find them - anyone know where/what they are? Thanks!

Are you thinking of lighter colors or darker ones? I guess it all depends on what type of look you are going for. If you do a darker blue/purple then the flowers will be more subtle, which would be pretty neat on the black...
You could even do both the blue & purple - then you could have a bigger range of choice for matching accessories!

Here are some of the options I was thinking:

- Dark Blue Only
- Dark Purple Only
- Dark Blue + Light Blue
- Dark Purple + Light Purple
- Dark Purple + Dark Blue (just added that one - i also like!)
