My bug got backed into today. They hit me behind the drivers side door. Does any body know if there is anything behind the panel that may be expensive to fix? Their insurance is paying for it, but I just would like to know more about what may be behind there that could have been damaged. Photos below:

I think the only things in there is the seat belt retracting spool, and the rear speaker.

What Supercharged98 said...this is minimal damage unless it belt the frame and I can't see that as the running board is perfectly straight. New fender, someone to band that ding out... not too bad, at most $2500 I'd guess.... fender + pant isn't that much (they'll source an OEM silver one from a yard) then the body work to bang it out, possibly a respray over that area if the paint chips during the metal work.

I'm in Painesville.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Hopefully everything will turn out ok. This is the first car I bought brand new, so it means a little more to me. I just wish people would stop banging into it. lol

Oh man! I did that same kind of thing to my right side thinking i could push my rolling yard waste bin of of the way by driving past it and gently movin it with my beetle. Fail lol!
My right side door is kind of ruff so im not so gentle but man i was trippin when i found out that fender is so delicate there and yes its now cracked and broken. Duh! Kicking myself.

I noticed that there was some damage just forward of the fender. In addition to possible seatbelt retract and speaker you might have them check the window regulator.
