Default remove body kit?

In less than 24 hours I'll be on my way to pick up my NB.

It has a body kit on it that I'm pretty sure I will want off-- does anyone have any information or experience with that?

Don't know much about body kits. Be careful taking it off, you may be able to sell it, or at least parts of it.

You'll have to post a pic and maybe folks with a similar kit can chime in.

If by chance that body kit consists of Charactre side pods, I might be intereted in buying them from ya.

If its the same car you posted about yesterday I don't think you can remove them with out major body work. As some one said in your other thread your best bet would probably be replacing both front and rear bumpers.

Hope I'm wrong.

Here are the pics from your other thread, just so we can speed answers up a bit

PS: Side skirts may come out easily

the side rocker panel on pass side has been damaged, im going to try and get it off and see if anything is under it.

It's my understanding the factory rocker panels/running boards are welded into place. I feel certain the side skirts will be fiberglass over the factory. As stated the front and back bumpers are probably one piece units. If the skirts are bondo'd or worse, are not fiberglass and are welded in, it's gonna be costly.

So yesterday I got really really lucky!!!
The side panels were so broken in parts and coming off the actual car... they pretty much fell off. No sticky residue leftover, it had been so worn off over the years. I didn't even see much damage. I just had remove a few bolts underneath the frame, and presto original side!

I know that doesn't make ANY sense, but the point was, I got the side skirts off with no damage to the original underneath. Now, to see if one of my local body shops has any ideas on altering the front and back bumpers... I'm going to try to alter the look of them rather than run out and buy replacement OEM parts.

I also was able to get the 18" rims off and miraculously the stock 16" full size spare fit on the car WITH the current kit and didn't rub or anything. So, now I'm replacing those rims with steel 16" rims and getting some wheel covers to make it pretty.

I will post pics soon.

I'm not gonna lie, but I think the car itself with the kit looked pretty dope .. lol
