Default What is missing here?

Tried to load a picture, but can't do it from my phone. I have 2 square holes, one on either side of my hood latch. It seems as though something should be in these holes. Perhaps some kind of bumpers? I have been having issues with getting the hood to latch completely. My shop can do it, why can't I? Ugh

Thanks
Vicki

Definitely post the picture when you can. I know when I had my NB, I had to slam the hood pretty good to get the latch to catch all the way. Not sure why its so tough on the NBs. My GTI is much easier.

There should be a torx screw with a washer on it in those holes. Like in the holes around the rest of the hood opening.
There is spring nut which has the threads on it in the hole that the screw threads into.
