Angry Fixing a scratch on my 2006 NB

Does anyone know if the paint on the 2006 NB's has a clear coat (base/clear)? Enamel or lacquer?

My baby just got her first scratch today

I was opening the drivers door to get out and the door hit a shelving bracket. All my own fault but it doesn't make me feel any better.

Anyway, it's about a 3/4" vertical scratch that looks like it is just on the surface - not down to metal. Almost looks like it was scratched by a pin.

I am googling for paint scratch repairs and there are different proceedures if you are working with a base/clear paint, enamel, or lacquer.

That bites. Sorry to hear that. I did that to Zoomer with a metal hose attachment ... slipped on ice while washing him ... SMACK -- made a nice 1.5" scratch on his front passanger fender.

I believe the car has clear coat. Perhaps you can try buffing it? or just waxing before trying a paint pen. I used a paint pen on the rock chips on Zoomers bonnet ... came off while washing him a month later. Not that great....

probably came off cause you didn't scuff the surface; the paint has nothing to adhere to.
