For now my attitude is to wait a couple more weeks at least to see for sure that we'll get enough people in. The last official thread didn't get nearly enough response, so maybe this will give people the time they need to save up the funds, and allow enough people to learn about it.

Since we have to have 10 for the group rate, we really don't have a choice but to wait.

I got in some pictures of a stock top with a sunroof and emailed them to the company for some initial plans on their part. Could someone with a '98 send me some pictures, too? I just want to verify with them that it will fit, and I think that would be the best way.

I'll try to contact a couple of people I know of, too.

Bumping for the weekend!

I've been doing a little bit of math on this and trying to contact a few people to get the numbers a bit firmer. We've gotten quite a bit of interest!

I'm going to talk with a few locals again to see if they'd like to get one, now that we'll have a sunroof model available. We've actually had more than 10 people express interest, so if most of them really are wanting to get this we could be ready at any time! But since I've only gotten a few truly firm answers, I'm going to hold off on putting in the order a little while longer.

Once you get to Vegas, just put $250 on Black and you'll have it no problem!

If things don't happen in the next few weeks maybe you'll still be able to join in!

Thank you, Ewa! I've been looking around town for a '98 to get pictures, or at least a view of. Looks like the only differences are a smaller cutout over the mirror, and no contour over the doors where the other handle is. Did you check out the first pic and see the handles I'm referring to?

So I'm thinking this would work for a '98 no problem!

No indentation where the sunglasses holder is, and ALSO no interior light in the back seat like your 1st pic shows. The only light inside is that on the underside or the RVM.

Weird! I forgot to look for that!

Wow, you had it smooth back then!

I guess I'll initiate the phrase now...

Smooth as a '98's headliner.

Nah, that might not catch on.

Sorry I've been out of the loop for a bit. Dang work!

But yeah the 98's don't have the cubby over the rear view, no oh $#!% handles or sunglass case, and no lights in the rear. I was bummed when I had Kraut and after seeing a later bug had them.

One other question I had was......

Will the areas for the cubby, the sunglass holder, the grab handle, and the lights in the rear be cut out or will that be up to the person buying it?

Sounds like my favorite chocolate not so sweet either when you gotta find something in the black interior

I'm thinking now that there might be some trimming involved.

My confusion is that they say it's for the '98 up, but their picture does show the contour for the glasses case, so that makes me think again that it would be shaped/cut for a '99+.

I'll send pics of all varieties to them tomorrow and see if they can compare that to their mold.

My list still shows just over 10 possibly interesed. I'm going to try to lock down those numbers a bit better this week!

I thought immediately about how dark that must be. Well, actually, I've seen how dark when I don't turn those lights on!

And it's dark!

Your chocolates sound a bit like my beers. I like them dark and rich!

I'm interested in getting one for my '98, depending on the final price.

I'm not getting back to the 'States until X-Mas time, though, and currently have no place to live to have it delivered to

I stuck this topic so hopefully that will help a little.

(I usually say I made this thread sticky, but get all kinds of unwanted comments. )

Thanks, 'toine!

g00niebird, glad to have you aboard (no pun intended, sailor! )! I'm almost positive $265 will be the final price. Think that'll work? As for timing, should we be able to order these very soon, I could put you toward the end of the receiving if you like.

I would be interested in one for a sunroof but might have to wait until the 25th of Nov when I get paid (salary). If you haven't ordered by then, count me in.

Excellent!

With you this will be 8 verified headliners, I believe.

I don't think the timing will be a problem for you.

$265 shouldn't be a problem. Does that cover S&H too?

Mark me down for a '98 model, in black if possible. I'll figure out the shipping place sooner or later. If all else fails, I'll have it sent to my GF's or a friend's place

$265 does include shipping. And I'll see what I can do about the gelcoat color. At least 2 have asked for the black gel, and since the shop does indeed use that sometimes, I'm thinking they'd be able to do it for you.

Just for pre-planning sake, how long will you be off deployment? We're still waiting for the last couple of people to verify a purchase, so it still might be a couple of months before the last is delivered. Would that interfere with the next time you ship out?
