There is a headliner for a sunroof version sitting at the shop, but they won't make the mold until they have the money. I'm still waiting for a few more checks to come in before I can send it to them. If you'd like to participate in the purchase we'll be 1 closer! PM me if interested, please!

The sunroof version that is being made will indeed fit your '01 quite nicely. As I said above, PM me if you'd like to get in on the purchase.

As pictured on page 4 of this thread, the hardtop version comes with solid sides ready for a '98. I'm still waiting on a few more checks before I can send this order in, so if you'd like to join the group please let me know soon!

Thank you all for your interest! Now let's get this done!

I can't really give an answer to that, I guess. As soon as I get the money for 10 I'm putting in the order. What kind of timeline are you looking at?

I guess the best I can say right now is that if they haven't shipped yet at that time I should be able to get you added in no problem. Just please keep me updated and I'll give you info as things come.

I have a 2002 NB with a factory sunroof, and may be interested. Does it include a paintable part for the slider? Are there any other pictures available? What about a detailed How-To??
So it's $265 w/ shipping thru the group buy, and $450 individually?

Hiya, Phinsfan!

The slider will indeed be paintable as well. It will be the same fiberglass to match the headliner, and I believe it will still look like the factory slider.

As for other pictures, there are only the few I've posted of the hardtop version, and since there's not even a mold made of the sunroof version yet there aren't any shots to show from a New Beetle.

The cost of a shipped unpainted headliner will be $265 through the group buy as opposed to a regular cost of $350. Currently there is not a sunroof version available, they're making it special for our purchase.

Please send me a PM if you do decide to make the purchase and I'll send you the final information!

Thanks again for your interest!

Zeebo, there's still time to get in on this, the order has yet to be sent (since I'm still short a few checks). I'll send you a PM with the address to send the check to, and I'll just need a PM back from you when you send the check, plus I like to have the information confirmed about which model you'd like (hardtop or sunroof) and if you'd like the black or white gelcoat.

PM on its way!

Sorry for the delay, haven't had time to get to the .org with all the car show prep the last couple of weeks.

Yes, the sunroof version is the same price as the hardtop version. Unpainted is $265 and you can get the shop to paint it before they send it for an additional $100.

As I said above, you can get it painted for an additional $100. There is a slider for the sunroof version that will be made of the same material as the headliner. Please PM me if you'd like to join in!

Thanks!

I hope I can get back to logging in almost every day again, rather than this every 2 weeks silliness.

Talked with the shop again today. As I'm getting the last of the money sent to me I'm getting them geared up. I'm very sorry this is taking so long, everybody. Rest assured I'm still working on it and trying to get it finalized and shipped just as soon as possible.

I'd deffinately like one of these headliners. I have a 98 beetle and I'd like the hardtop version with black gel coat. I wont have the money until the beginning of December tho so you can hold of on mine I guess till the very latest. Let me know if thats a problem.

Talked with the shop the other day and they're working through the stack of projects they've been working on while we were getting the money together. They hope to be ready to start on our mold in a few weeks. As I get updates I'll put them here!
