Default stereo for a 2000 beetle

i recently bought a 2000 beetle, unfortunately it came with a lot of problems i was not expecting including an engine that was no good and needed replacing within one hour of driving the car off the lot. finally after 3 months of waiting i have my car back but there is still one problem...no stereo. does anybody know where i can get the stereo for a 2000 beetle without having to pay volkswagen pricing? i really hate aftermarket ones and i would love to be able to find an original one for my car but i do not want to pay $300 for it

I've got my original radio still. I upgraded to an '03.

I'll sell you my old radio for 1/3 of $300 + shipping.

The factory head units suck !!! the speakers keep cutting out and most people here will attest to their pitiful quality.

You can have mine for 30 bucks (plus shipping of course). The tape player doesn't work, but everything else including the changer controls work just fine. Mine came out of a 99 Beetle, so Im sure they are the same.

PM me if you want it.
