Default I need a bulb for a/c contorls!!!!

I need the bulb that goes behind the a/c controls to illuminate all the knobs. I have a 2001 NB if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Are all the lights out?

Have you tried giving it a whack? Seriously.

I had to replace my HVAC controls shortly after getting my car last year. The blower switch had burned out. Anyhow, periodically the lights just stop working. Give it a little whack and they light up just fine. I've taken it all apart again to check the connections etc and all is clean, tight and good. Still does it though.

Yes all the lights are out. As far as the controls them selves they work. I will try the Whack thing. Thanks

I had mine apart this weekend working on some other stuff, but the light has been intermittant on it for a while (always worked for me?). I pulled the bulb and it's blown. Must have been right on the edge. Just grab the fan knob and pull. The bulb is right behind it - pull it out with needle nose. I haven't found the part number, I'm just going to hit autozone up and match up the closest thing they have. If I find a usable number, I'll post it.

Wow, Thanks people for the info. She tried the hitting thing for awhile and she said it worked but doesn't come on anymore. My only thing is I'm about 200 miles from the closet dealer so I just can't run and pick one up. I maybe close to one this weekend so if so I will stop in and see if I can get one. Again thanks everyone.

I guess I must have had it in position 2 when I pulled it out, because it came right out with no problem!

Thanks for the info though... I'll be pulling it apart again shortly.

Don't worry about going to the dealer.. you can get one to match it at an auto parts store.. I think i got mine at advanced auto parts, and have seen it at Autozone. Just took the old one out and walked into the store and matched it up. Don't know the style # offhand, but I might have the package with an extra bulb down in the car, if that doesn't work..

I picked one up at autozone this weekend. Of course I stuck the package with the spare bulb in my toolbox before I wrote the part number down.

There was only one bulb like it on the shelf. Pretty sure it's the smallest bulb they stock. Doing a quick search on their site I think it's a 2721 "Lighting Tecnologies / 12 Volts Instrument and Courtesy Bulbs"

""I got 1/4 inch diameter vinyl tubing from menards($1).""

Where would I find something like this at wal-mart we don't have a menards. Or what would be best to use?

Just the one bulb illuminates all three knobs.

that bulb behind the fan switch sure is tiny....anyways;mine was kinda working sometimes, not all of the time-then it went out permanently a few days ago.I forgot about using tubing o get the bulb ou & did it VERY carefully with needle nose pliers from work (it helps to work at a place like autozone!lol).when it was working b4 it was very dim.now that the new bulb is in it's like OMG! it's really bright & now I can see it all!it was definately bulb #2721.thanks for all of your help!

There was a DIY for this but can't seem to locate it.
Does the fan switch just pull away? I've tried it will not budge.

fan switch must be completely vertical in position 2;then pull it straight out...use vacuum tubing to replace the bulb
