if anyone finds one or has one, mine is totally scratched to bits and I hate it. I need a new (er) shiney one.

i've heard the only way to fix that is to cover it with a decal\sticker or get a new airbag...

not 100% positive, though.

thats true since they are basiclly a big rivet thats pushed thru a washer on the inside and flattened ,,,
i think bugs a gogo over in japan had some decals
or get a local vinyl shop to do one for you

I've tried a couple of vinyl stickers myself, but there's a problem...the emblem area isn't flat. The center is sort of arched, and dips as it goes out from the center. That makes it hard for things to stick because the outer edge isn't flat. I put a 50 cm (I think) sticker on mine, but when it got hot in the car the edges came loose.

use a hair dryer on low heat and a rubber squeegee to apply it and it will help it flex enough it should lay down ,, get it smaller that the actual size of the center piece and it should help with the edges staying down also

i can get you the euro emblem(blue/white) for 40 usd.....is from the vw polo sold in mexico but with ths same sizes as new beetle

Does it just pop off, or it is bolted on to the steering wheel?

It is riveted in place. There is no way to remove the emblem or replace it without destroying the airbag.
