Very cool idea. But I don't know if I can bring myself to get rid of my billet vase.

haahaha funny guy!

Thanks guys for the comments. I had to come up with something. Mounting the GPS was always and issue for me. I hated having to clean the ring on the windshield left from the suction cup. It was either too high up or down low and too far to reach. Inside the cup holder is just wrong because you have to look down to use it. Using the bud vase was inevitable and proved to be the best location. At least for me!

So the 200W that I have would hit the wipers? That's too bad, I'd sure like to get rid of the suction cup.

Is this the one you have?

If so, it will still work. The wiper switch may come in contact however, the ball on the mount allows you to swivel the device and possibly clear the switch.

In this picture here I was deliberately trying to make contact with the switch. It is in the highest position and clear from the device. In the case of your 200W model, it would only depend on how you position it I guess.

For sure it will work. It just depends if it will make contact with your wiper switch. Of course that would only be when it's raining. If you want you can try it out and if you find that it is a problem and you don't like it, just send it back and I'll refund your money.Just PM me your e-mail and which one you want. I had a friend at work who has a widescreen Garmin. I think his model is 620 or 630 He wasn't sure.
Anyway, I snapped some photos to show that the unit can be adjusted to clear the wiper switch. Looks great.

In using my GPS mount I encountered a little annoyance. As you all know, the bud vase has to be turned clockwise
to lock in place. When pressing on the touch screen of the GPS, it wants' to move in the counter-clockwise direction
which causes the mount to become loose. I found my self constantly fighting with it until I decided to fix it once and for all.
It was quite easy too. I popped off the shelf that holds the bud vase and drilled a little hole in the back.
(I used a hand drill.... You don't have to kill it!) I then used a set screw and BAM! Problem solved!!

The spot I drilled the hole had a round marking already there. It was similar to the one next to the VW logo on
the right. That made it pretty easy to drill.

Easy, Peasy Nice N' Easy!

I got a few days ago, I wish it was either taller or the arm was longer. The way I have my wheel it covers some of the screen.
