Looking for 2.0 AEG engine. I have a 1999 5 speed New Beetle. Otherwise I am torching the damn car :P

Thought of parting the car out... Not sure if I should, still making payments. Everything worked on the car until I ruined the valves when the water pumped seized.

Why not just replace the head? I bought a new head from ATK for about $700.

I agree, you should investigate whether you can get away with just replacing the head.

And if you did want a whole engine, why the heck would you want another 2.slow?

You should be able to get by with some head work. This guy primarily does work on TDI heads, but works on other VW's as well. He goes by Franko6 on the forums at tdiclub.com and he does very good work for very reasonable prices.

Don't go parting the car out if the bank still owns it (and if you're still making payments they still own it). VERY BAD idea.
