If only you needed an engine last month...Copart took my 2.0L with 102k on her due to lack of interest in it...

I saw that. Would that fit the Beetle? I have heard no.

Not sure if an ABA would fit. The '98 Jetta is a Mk3, not a Mk4. It would probably work but you may have to fab some stuff up a bit.

I am just looking for a something that will be a straight fit and not an arm and leg. If not I might have to just part it out or donate it.

What area are you in? I have an independent VW mechanic that can do all of the work. He used to work at Anderson in Crystal Lake and opened his own shop in Woodstock. All of the 2.0 blocks are the same, just some of the add ons are different. Intake being a big item. PM me if you need his number. He might have a motor in his shop. He just replaced a 2.0 on my friend's 99 Cyber nB.

What was bill if you don't mind me asking? The car is in Lemont. I can get over there as we have a trailer and the price it right.

If that is true we can pick the pieces off the engine it has now.

PM'd.
