Default It's a sad sad day in Tomville.

I guess it is bound to happen to all of us at some point and time and today it happened to me. I was walking down to the car after hearing some bad news about a freind coming down with MS. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was walking and stepped off a curb. I sent my prized lil digi cam sailing thru the air. It hit Pomelo and then CRASH into the ground. It landed lens first and screwed it up good. There are loose parts inside now and the lens just floats back and fourth in the socket.

I surely hope all y'all enjoyed my photos because unless a miracle happens it looks like it will be the last for a long time to come.

My lil FZ-20 was like an extension of my own arm and has literly gone everywhere I have gone the last few months. JD Thank you for getting me back in the game. Shutterbug thanks for all the inspiration and everyone else thanks for the nice comments.

You have no idea how much these assignments have really meant to me. You see I am going thru a health crisis and a divorce. This has been my therapy and in all honesty I wouldn't be here with out this outlet for my emotions. I don't know what I am going to do now. I really do feel like I lost a limb and my only real way of expressing myself. I will miss this more than any of you can ever imagine.

I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ50 on my wishlist but untill all the issues with my personal life are cleared up it needs to remain there.

Tom aka Fowvay

PS... sold all my other gear including SLR's to pay off bills and gave my Nikon L1 to Mom as a gift... wonder if I can convince her to let me borrow it.

Man, I know what that camera meant to you. I'm so sorry to hear about this. Maybe you'll just have to shoot with a cheapie for a while.

Damn Tom! When it rains, it Monsoons on ya! Sheesh!

I do understand about breaking a camera. I'm sure you remember me dropping mine and ripping the lens completely off. It sucks! Even though I don't shoot photo's every single day, I would be lost knowing that I don't have a camera nearby.

If you can scrounge up a few bucks, check out Craigslist for used digicams. In fact, in your columbus, OH area, there is a Nikon Coolpix 4600 (4mp) that is for sale for $65. I can bet that you can find that much change in your sofa!

I'll hope for the best for ya!

Well actually.. Yes I do remember that very clearly and it has been very much on my mind all day today.

No when I mean I have no money I mean... I have no job, no income, no money. Not ever $5 to my name. Wait.. nope not even $5.

I gave my Nikon SLRs to a budding photographer, my coolpix to a needy freind, my Nikon L1 to an even needier person, two laptops to needy people, a desk top to a dear freind. By the grace of God and an awesome insurance man I was able to replace my damaged rims and pocket $81 (spent on this gtg).

So no... I don't see a digi-cam in my near future. I will be patient and get that FZ50. It does everything I need in a nice tidy lil package. It just might take me a long time to scrape that kind of money together unless of course karma steps in and pays me back.

Tom, I'm very sorry to hear about this. I opened this and saw 'crash' my heart sank I thought it was about the beetle, I'm glad to hear that you and the car are ok. Is there anyway you could 'borrow' one of your old cameras? Things will start looking up, you're in my thoughts.

Tom,

For what it is worth ... I have a Fuji FinePix 1300 1.3MP camera. It's a simple point and shoot, but I do not need it. I think it's got an 8 or 16MB SmartMedia card and I have the USB cable for it (I think). I'll gladly send it to you gratis if you PM me your address.

Sooooooo sorry to hear this Tom. You gotta stop talking to me, my bad luck is rubbing off on you. I hope your life gets a little brighter soon. What happened to you is one of the reasons I don't have a nice digital camera.
All this hoo haa about the camera, how are you? I hope you didn't hurt yourself.
