Default What camera do you use?

I have had a Panasonic Lumix digital camera for several years now. I have never really been completely happy with it and am thinking about getting something new. With all the beautiful photos in this section there must be a lot of camera-savvy people here who can point me in the right direction. I like a smaller point and shoot that I can just keep in my purse, but also would like something with a good zoom so I would consider something bigger. Any recommendations? Thanks !

Well hi there

Ok, I don't know what your budget is, BUT, if you want a NICE digital camera that won't break your bank, has a really nice OPTICAL zoom (cause the digital zoom is junk).. and something that can capture stunning color and motion... check out the Canon S3 iS.

The Canon S3 iS has a 12X optical zoom, ((that is a 36mm to 432mm)), 6 megapixel, and can record video , 640x480 at 30 frames per second.... or 320x240 at 60 frames per second.

Oh yah, and it has SUPER-Macro, which means it can focus at ZERO centimeters, that is, directly on the front of the lens itself!

Get this, most Mini-DV video cameras record at 320x240 at 30fps... even Canon says that this camera has better video capabilities than most of their own video versions

For around $340 on eBay you can get the Camera, 2 gigs of memory ( or 4 depending on the seller) plus the extra lenses , filters, etc.

And if you want to see what the camera can do...

You can check out my FLICKR account, MY FLICKR HERE.

Personally I vouch for this camera becaaause, I bought one.

If you have questions about it, feel free to ask!

And with a tripod, it works very well at night too.

Wow, those are some beautiful pictures! I have to visit Washington someday.

Thanks for the tips. $340 sounds pretty reasonable for a good camera, especially if that includes all the "extras". I don't have too much to spend now since I recently acquired car payments!

I'd have to agree with Stephan, the S3 is an awesome camera, I especially love the super macro modes..

I like my Samsung d53. It has a ton of features that I love.b&w, sepia, movies, and overlays of many other things. It is a great camera. I have taken over 3700 pictures with it. The other digital cameras I have owned have lasted 1500. This one has beat them all, and I have beat on it too. Take them for a spin at your local store.
I know what my next digital camera will be. If this one ever decides to croak.
here are some pictures http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z...20part%201%20/
