I am FINALLY getting back to this. Sorry it's taken so long!
This month, I want you to focus (pun intended!) on Color. Any color you want, but one single color HAS to be the subject. That single color should be the dominant feature of the shot. Make sense? Good! I'll be adding my images sometime soon!
For those who have never participated in one of my monthly assignments: My goal with these is to help you actively "See" images before you decide to trip the shutter. I want you to previsualize, and use your compositional knowledge to create a visually interesting image. We all have the beautiful sunset shot, but other than a pretty sky, what else is there to look at in the image? Usually not much. Add in an interesting foreground element, and then you really have a nice image!
As you are sitting in traffic, instead of zoning out and listening to that favorite song for the umpteenth time, think about how to use color as the subject. Look at the colors of cars around you and imagine how you would frame a shot.
As you are brushing your teeth, look at the shower curtain or tile on the wall, think about what you could do with the patterns and colors.
I do these kinds of things all the time. I have found that even though I may see the same things every single day, I am able to see things that inspire me to make an image.
To sum it up, I want you to think before you shoot. Simple! Now get out there and shoot!
