Default Kodak HIE Infrared Film Pix

Now that I can scan without the image coming out a "tif" when I need a "jpeg", I will be posting til my fingers bleed.

Here's the start of my Infrared (IR) Photos.

All were shot with a Pentax K1000, a #25 Red Teffin Filter
ISO 400, 125/f8 - 11

Nice job!

I especially like the fact that you're using a K1000, too!

Is there an icon for awww shucks while blushing and kicking the dirt? Yeah, that one... You really encourage me, I need that.

Thanx guys. I love having a place where I can share the things I enjoy in life and get such great response.

I do want to point out some things about these pix. Most were taken when I first started shooting IR and they tend to be more grainy. Thru the years I have learned how to hold my mouth right so to speak. They also look a little grey in the center due to fogging from my newer camera. It wasn't til I got the good old Pentax K1000 that I could achieve full IR frames.

The shot of the tree by the water was from my first roll of IR taken 5 years ago.

Below is one taken in Wales in '04, see the difference. Solid blacks, less grain and finer lines.

Oh, the shoot of the waterfall at Artist Point in WY has a cool thing about it thats hard to see. The very second I pressed the shutter an eagle few right between me and the water. A real serendipity moment. I wish it had come out better but we were just to far away for the lens to get it. Look close, its there.

I bought a new Canon Rebel T2 (or something like that - I forget... the price was fantastic as the store was closing) so I could move up to automatic focus lenses in order to capture my daughter's movements more easily...

Since then I have been wondering the best way to still use my K1000 and your IR shots have given me inspiration. I haven't shot IR since high school and it's about time I jumped back into it.

Thanks for posting
