I'm getting ready to buy a 2013 Beetle Comfortline model. The only colours available locally are black and silver. I could order another colour but it would be sight unseen. Which colours do you think look the best?
I like the Black one but I wonder if it will be a pain to keep free of surface scratches. I'd like to see the Platinum Grey. maybe that would be the happy medium.
I've heard black cars are hard to keep clean but they look great when they are clean. I would choose black over silver but the red is pretty amazing too.
This is entirely true. My GTI is black. It shows every little scratch and every piece of dirt. It hides nothing. Looks gorgeous when its clean, but "clean" lasts all of 5 seconds it seems. I bought my car used, and its a special edition so the black I can live with. But I will never own another black car. Its just too much for my OCD to deal with  My '99 Beetle was Techno Blue. It hid everything. That color was great. I never waxed it for 6 1/2 years (I did wash it fairly frequently though), and it still was shiny and clean looking.
Black is by far the toughest color to keep looking good. It seems that Yellow, Silver, Denim Blue, and Gray are best for concealing war bruises, but if I could get a 21st Century Beetle, my first choice would be Toffee Brown. Love that color.
I really like the Reef BLue but it's only available on the Sportline in Canada and I plan on getting the Comfortline model with sunroof. I'm leaning towards grey or white although I did see a Denim Blue yesterday and it's not bad.
