2006 Oklahoma Route 66 Beetle Run

Well, as I expected, turnout was low for the 2006 Oklahoma Route 66 Beetle Run. There was me, Marcus and his family and Suzie and her husband. But, we enjoyed a pleasant drive on Route 66 to Tulsa, where we had lunch at the Chilli's on Harvard Avenue.

I only got off two pics during the whole trip, once we got to Chilli's. Somehow, after six years of flawless service, my Sony Mavica MVC-FD90 took the crappiest photos its ever made (figures it would happen now). It has automatic exposure, just like every digital camera known to man. Point and shoot, right? Well, now it decides to grossly overexpose the only images I got of this event. Fortunately, I was able to salvage them (somewhat) with a lot of photomanipulation, once I got home, so this is better than what came out of my camera. I did a couple of test photos at home, afterward, and they looked okay.

The washed out yellow Beetle is Marcus' and the washed out Cyber Green one is Suzy's. The (somehow) almost normally exposed Platinum Gray is mine. But, don't worry, Marcus got some shots of his own, so there should be something better to look at here.

Yep, it was a fun outing. I'm not sure if Marcus has seen this thread yet, so, if he pops up somewhere on the boards, or if someone has his number, they might let him know about it.

it may have been low, but it only takes a few new beetles together to have loads of fun... which i'm sure you had lots of!

Glad to see you all got to do the run. Wish I would have stayed here and did the run instead of going racing. We sucked Sat. nite, the car was way off. Drove all night got in at 9:00 am this morning. Wish I could have meet you all.Maybe we could get another GTG scheduled sometime. I guess the people from here didn't go. Sorry Gary, I said we would be there but didn't show up but I have to go when the race team needs me.

No problem, Bobby. We had a good time and, as Marcus said, it's sometimes better with a smaller group. Let's plan something for between the holidays, I guess.

I'm glad a few of you got together for this. I really do want to get involved with more Oklahoma NBs! I'm not going to abbreviate the state's name for this group... our Beetles are more than just OK! How's that for a cliche? Eh, it'll be new to people from other states.

I will indeed do what I can to meet up with you next time!
