10th Annual Turkey Run- St. Augustine, FL 10.17.'07

Hey Gang,

Earlier this week, Mike/ 73Standard, reminded me of the Turkey Run, which took place today Sat, 11.17. Of course I attended.

The show is sponsored by the Old City Oil Drippers and is held at the St. Augustine Flea Market. The setting is awesome for a VW Show and I highly reccomend using one if anyone is planning a show in the near future. Beside checking out the Dubs, you can paroose through the flea mkt- something for everyone.

This bug is owned by a friend of mine- Donald. No joke, when He drove in all heads turned as everyone heard this loud Kerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr scraping sound. A very funny moment for us all.

This vert is for sale. Val and I were seriously considering buying it. But sadly, we're about 6 months out from buying another vehicle. Crystal, our youngest daughter would've been happy- Val was gonna give her Peedie, her PTCruiser. Anyhoo, here's said bug

Let me tell you brother, you have no idea. Val just peeked over my head a second ago while posting these pics and tried to twist my arm to get it. She said, "you know you want to get if for me so you can race me down 95". Fortunately for me, dude has had it up for sale for a while and Mike and Angie (the 73's) know him. So if things pan out quicker than planned, we're gonna get it. The sad thing is I don't think i'll be driving it much. Guess i'll have to get one of my own. Oh yeah Warreh, to add insult to injury, as we were heading home down 95, there was this truck that had a cherry '66 corvair convertable on a trailer- same body style as the one i had back in the day, except mine was a hardtop. i did my psuedo cry as we passed it, and Val consoled me.

Oh, one last pic: Cup with her registration slip in the window. Don't know if I won anything- they'll shoot me and e-mail if I did

Oh yeah, I did get several inquires on my headrests. Will I be making more??? Who knows. I just wish I had a Flo-Jet machine and a mack-daddy Norm Abarams New Yankee Workshop set-up, to work like I want to.

Looks like a great collection out there. And in the grass, no less! I love Dubs in a field, especially when they can still drive!

I thought of you while I was there bro. Osteen was one of the sponsors. And they did have an Eos, Rabbit, NBC and another NBC that they're raffling off for the Cancer Society. Wish you could've made it.
