Default VW's On The Beach 4.13.08...photo recap

Hey gang

The time has come (and gone) again- The Volkswagens On The Beach show; and once again I put Cup in the show- second time.

Just like last year, the morning was rainy and looked like it was a no go; still I arrived early to register. And just like last year, it turned out to be a beautiful, sunny warm day, with a great turnout.

Here's a photo recap of the event, which includes the winners of the New Beetle class, and a few others too.

Enjoy

First pic: New Beetle row. There were 2 other NB's scattered

pics 2 &3: Cup and Purl. Purl belongs to KBelle, a fellow orger. Kirsten(KBelle) and hubby Pierre just came to hang out at look around. We pursuaded them to enter Purl in the show. It was a good thing they did. They got TONS of attention on their convertable, and many questions to boot. In return, they got a cool VW flower from the local VW dealer (OsteenVW), and even won a trophy/plaque- sorry I can't remember for what class. They both were glad they entered and enjoyed the show greatly. Kirsten has some cool plans for Purl. I can't wait to see them....I won't let the cat out of the bag

Pic4: Chase's TDI. Not an orger...YET. Gave him an org card though. He lost his front grill due to some road debris. Kinda looked cool with just the fog lights though. Chase and his fam recieved an award too. Can't remember what class.

Judging for different class of NB was kinda vauge as it went along. I think it's because air-cooled owners, not too privy to the NB, Judge our cars. Funny for a car thats been around for little over 10 years. I'm gonna get involved more in the SouthEastVWClub, so our class can have a bit more clarification. Especially now that we're getting more participation.

Even so, it was cool seeing some of those on NB row take home some hardware

Pic 5: another NB amongst the enrants.

Here's more pics of KBelle's NB, "Purl", along with one of many, who had a lot of questions about Purl. As earlier stated, Purl got a lot of attention. I was happy for Them.

OH, who's that?? It's BWV (beautiful wife-Valerie)/The wife-unit. HeeHee

She's really starting to warm up to, as she calls us, "Beetle People". It's cool that she's supportive of 'my habit'

I'm gonna go ahead, and show the winners now, instead of waiting.

from last to first in the New Beetle class

Pic 1- 3rd Place: yours truly and Buttercup

Pic 2- Runner up: Fransisco and his RSI kit bug. He lives around the Orlando area and bought His bug on Ebay. He and his wife are super nice and I did give them an org card, so hopefully we'll see them here.

Pic3- Winner in the New Beelte class: Brian and his New Beetle. He and His wife live, as memory serves me, near the Daytona area. Possibly a future orger as well.

Those are the winners in the New Beetle Class...You be the judge

Pic 1: this 61 vert, was for sale for 6000.00. This was one of my favorites. I guess cause I wanted it so bad

Pics 2 & 3: Though not for sale, this was Val's favorite. When we get her air-cooled, she wants it set up like this.

pics 4 and so on: A Xb before Scion ever though of an Xb. A postal wagon from Germany. Another favorite of mine.

I here ya mang. The TypeIII Notchback has always been my 'holy grail' of the AirCooleds. Seeing that postal van, changed that, or at least it's a tie

And it looks like there's 2 AirCooleds in our future. These next 2 pics give you and idea of what Val and I are looking for..

The vert is my choice...for sale as a matter of fact It's a 61 for 6000.00.

The next one is not for sale, but Val wants one like this

Speaking of Val, here's a pic of the BWV/The Wife-unit, showing her support.
