Louisville, ky gtg photos!!!!

We are back from our second annual Louisville GTG and we had a blast!!! We started out with 2 Org members to drive up to Corydon, IN to Happys picnic. When we got there, we saw a nice 1999 Blue (not sure which blue! somebody help me!), TDI. They quickly pulled out of the visitors parking lot over beside Ernie, we talked for a good while with them about coming here to the Org, and they are going to!!!! (hopefully), Next we saw a 2000 Silver Arrow NB, they parked in the line behind us. Jonk and I started talking to them and we told them how we met on NewBeetle.Org, and THEY ARE ALREADY MEMBERS HERE! Unfortunately, I can't remember what the gentlemans user name is, but he is on here. Sir if you read this, and see you bug, please remind me of your name!!! We had a great time, I am going to post some of my pics. There was a Large crowd, they came in late after the threat of rain passed. After this we went to the Movies in Louisville! Since only 2 went, we chose Star Trek! of all movies!!!! Then on to Applebees for a nice dinner and a toast to a very fun day! I am so glad we got to meet some new friends and I appreciate Jonk for driving the long way to be here in case we had someone show up. For those who couldn't make it. WE WILL DO THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR~~~If I am alive~~~Ok, I am worn to a frazzle, here are some of my pics. I tried not to take repeat pics from last year, but some times you can't help it!!!
The first pics are of a sweet 78 Bus, a shot or two of 3 of the New Beeltes, Ernie is showing off his tail in one.....Notice the bronze color OB at the bottom...It has a vinyl half top!!!! Beautiful. Also a shot of Rosebug, and the Blue one it a 1958 very clean, completely restored, and a red camper...

A few more.....I know some of you OB fans will have seen this before, if so, please comment on this. The 58 Beetle body off restoration, and a "wheel" gas pedal!!! (see pic below). The man said these wheels were common in the 1958s and older. I have been around Air Cooleds all my life, my first car was 56 bug, but I do not remember ever seeing this...Next 3 more sweet rides...

More!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Another beautiful Green machine with Jonk, nice white one beside a very sweet single cab. The white single cab belongs to our host, Happy, who owns Happys Auto, in New Albany, Indiana just across the river from Louisville!

Here are my last ones....A sweet Budwiser bus with a very nice toy in back. I love the pop out windshield on this baby! this low one is very nice. The guy showed everyone how he raises and lowers his beautiful Bug. The red door is an advertisement for the local VW club, the River City Oil Drippers! Next I snapped a couple of photos of Jonk and there was a nice air cooled behind him, I don't thnk you can see it in this pic. We had sooo much fun! Even though there wasn't a crowd, it was very nice being around VW Peeps all day, it was worth my sunburned face!!!!

WOW!! what a great GTG! I have no doubt a great time was had by all. It was nice to see the nB's representing us in good fashion.

Al! Maybe you could come middle of next May! The crowd was really large considering the fact they had to move the booths under the bleachers because of the rain! We did have a good time, and it was so exciting to meet another Org member! I hope he will post in here so I can remember his name.

Today was another fun day! We spent some time cleaning the Bugs up some, and went over to the bridge for more photo ops. I hope you don't get tired of this birdge! Everytime a Bug lover comes to my house, I show them this bridge!... I shot a pic of Ernies beautiful wheel again, it's soooo clean!!! Also, Jonk spent so much time cleaning Rosebug up, I thought I should show her off a bit, she shure is pretty!!!

Here are a few more.............After the photos, we came back through town and passed by Happys VW shop. It's just a hole in the wal store, but It is on one of the man drags, and all he sells is Air Cooled products! He has the picnic each year as a "thank you" to his customers. This #4 year has been wonderful, and it just keeps growing! I hope we can have a whole line of New Beetles representing us next year!! So remember to mark your calendars now for the second week in May for a great fin time together!!!!

Here is a few more... some in front of Happys Auto......The last few pics we took were at Cave Hill Cemetery. Many people go there, especially on the weekend to walk, and there are benches and ponds, where people go to sit an read or just take in the quiet. I parked Ernie at the beginning, I had some pain from 3 days of fun, so I just rode in with Jonk on the last few pics!
