Default BRAZIL - New Beetle Clube Meeting (07/19/09)

Hi guys! This New Beetle Cube meeting happened last weekend here in Brazil.

It was a trip to a city called Campos do Jordão, 80 miles away from the city of São Paulo. It´s located on the top of the hills, and it´s a nice place for those kind of event.

We had lunch in a restaurant called Gato Gordo (Fat Cat) and after that we had a free day to spend on the city, visiting the main turistic spots, buying souvenirs, watching music concerts and eating chocolat, of course.

I hope you enjoy!

FIST OF ALL: On the gas station, waiting for everybody to start the trip:

Now, as you can see, we are on the road.

It takes 1.5 hours to get to Campos do Jordão.

Bom Dia Carlos

Lovely photos
The town you visited looks a bit German when I look at the houses.
It seems like you guys had a good time.
And so many NB's! That's so wonderful.

Enjoy!
Marcia

Eeehm... are you talking to me? (a colleague of mine translated)

If so, I don't speak Portuguese/Brazilian, the only words I know are Bom Dia and Obrigade
You must be confused with my name as lots of girls in Brazil carry my name.
I've been to Brazil twice though, both times to Curitiba, Parana (stayed with a Brazilian friend and her family).
And if you like I can add you on MSN.
If you are referring to me that is

Yes, that was for you. I thought you spoke portuguese

Nice to hear that you´ve been down here. Curitiba is a cool city. I use to go there once or twice a year. I´ve been in US lot´s of times (at least 20) especially in California where I use to work in my company booth once a year in a fair at the Anahaein Convention Center.

Next year, I expect bringing home some acessories that doesn´t exist in Brazil for the Beetle. I´ll need tips of where to find them...

Add me on the MSN!

Take care.

Phew! now I don't feel silly.
The easiest way to find cool stuff for your NB is to just go to a VW dealer near where you are. I did that in April when I was in Seattle, WA, USA. Before I left my country I checked the website of VW of America, entered the zipcode of my friend and found a VW dealer nearby where she lives.
Then I emailed that location with my question (needed many pluche daisies for the budvase) and got a reply. When I actually went there and saw their accessorie shop I couldn't believe what I saw.
It's just merchandise though, like pens, keychains, cups and T-shirts. I don't know where to look for stuff to 'pimp' your car, but our American friends can help you out.
Or just browse this website and use the 'search' button. That helps a lot as well.

When I get home from work tonight I will try to ad you on MSN.

Wow Carlos, great pics! I never tire of looking at other people's Beetles! Of course, I am partial to the red ones, but the black really stands out, too! How often does your club plan events?

I am looking forward to my first event in May 2010. That's when the "Tail of the Dragon" cruise is planned and there is a wonderfully long, on-going thread about it on this site. I just can't wait!!!!!!

Thank you Karen!

Well, we use to plain one of that kind of event in each 3 months. Sometimes a little bit more sometimes a little bit less...

This one was kind of peculiar. It was far away from São Paulo and lots of people couldn´t go because of the distance. Some had children, some were lazzy...

I thing it´s interesting having 2 diferent kind of event: one in the main city (in my case São Paulo) to receive 50, 60 or maybe 90 Beetles and another kind of event in a touristic place for less cars. That is the way it´s working with us here.

Another thing that is important: in our events we use to ask for each car brings 1 kgs (I don´t know how much is it in pounds ) of food and after the meeting we make big donation for a house or clinic witch cares of old people, poor children or people who need special attention in general.
