I was a old aircooled guy and drove air cooled beetles as my daily driver from 1987 until 2000; I had a 64' and a 73' superbeetle..... I still like the charm of the early stuff but don't miss working on them constantly .... adjusting valves, replacing points, rebuilding carburetors... etc. OH, well... I still work on my NEW BEETLE all the time too.. oh, yeah the transmission just went out! LOL! So much for VW "modern reliability".... "its not a car, its a lifestyle"! :) (a lifestyle of fixing things!)
