23rd Annual Picnic for Stateline Volksfolks 7/18/10 Rockford, IL

I attended my first GTG/Car Show this past July 18th 2010. It was held at Alpine Park in Rockford, IL. It was open to all VW's from the Midwest. Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, and of course Illinois were represented. There were about 50 cars entered in the show and about 30 more that didn't make registration. I was 1 of only 3 NB's entered. The trophies are handmade by one of the members. Way cool. I am now a member of The Stateline Volksfolks which includes membership in VWCOA. I ended up with first place in my class and got 1 of 2 door prizes. Highlight pics follow and I am going to create 2 albums to hold the 130 pics I took.

Best Paint: Custom Ghia (Cooper S Headlights, Bodywork, Tails)
Best in Class NB: 1998 NB (Me)

Thanks Al! It was a great time. You are going to have to remind me to bring the trophy to ToD. You know where the pendant is. It' still too far away. Hopefully have at least one more prize before then. Definitely going to 2 more shows this year. 1 VW and 1 big show for everything that is in our square 1 block away. That show is on the 21st. 350+ cars show every year and they get turned away because of space issues. Check out the albums I'm trying to create for this past event.

That is the guy that makes all of the trophies and the pendants. He ended up making 30 trophies and the 2 pendants for this show. I takes him 4 months to do them. I have lots more pics so when I get a chance I'll load them up.
