Brussels - 15th of August

Sunday, we had a small GTG with 3 New Beetles for a trip in our own little country. We had good fun, despite the sometimes heavy rain showers.

What does Brussels or Belgium in general say you? Chocolate, fries and Brussels Sprouts? Well, there is much more to see, and even things we Belgians don't always know. Let me show you Brussels in a nut shell

Please bear in mind the poor weather, so it was not easy to take nice and clear photographs

I met with Dominique en Natalie, who live just about 10min from my home

Most of the balls are a museum.
The upper ball even is a restaurant.

Today, there were death rides organized from the upper ball up

And then on the the Grand place of Brussels and Town Hall

We were lucky, as this weekend, they organised the bigges flower carpet of the country right on the Grand Place

Then we left Brussels







The Avenue Louise, Belgians most known and expensive street

Half an hour later heading south, we arrived at the Lion of Waterloo (Lion's Mound - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)







And as from then, the weather got worse and worse

After the Lion, we went further south, and headed for Ronquières, the famous ships canal plane

We took a trip on of the boats and went down to the lower part of the canal

Some Dutch people who came from Paris, and were heading back home in Amsterdam

So, after that we got quite hungry, and went to eat Mussels

I've been thinking of going to Brussels, but I haven't yet taken the time, but after seeing your photos I definately should.
