Here are some pics I took of last night's VW Superdawg Invasion. It was open to all VW's and there was a pretty good turnout. Superdawg is a famous Chicago Hot Dog place and is busy on Saturday nights. We were mostly in the back. The weather broke for us around lunchtime so had time to get the rides all shined up.

Great pics!! Thanks for posting them Some really clean looking cars. And a couple glimpses of a Vanagon dopple kabine We had one, an 86 and would love to have another one. Wasn't too crazy about the plastic chrome hubcaps on the 70ish bug

That Vanagon is from Canada. I think I posted pics of that from the July show in Rockford. That's the ultimate camping vehicle. The plastic hubcapped one was a 74. Older couple restored it. Looked nice minus the caps. Under 100K.

The vanagon camper is nice too, but I was referring to the Vanagon double cab pick up. It looked like it was red. One frontal shot and one rear shot that I could see. Never had a Vanagon westy but did have bay windows and a Eurovan MV Westfalia

Here are the 2 pics I spoke of. The Vanagon dopple kabine is, to me, the ultimate utilitarian vehicle. Tri Star syncro versions go for for $35K plus and the newest available would be a 1991.

Like I mentioned, we had an 86 in prairie beige, lowered and rolling on 18's. I kick myself in the a$$ for ever getting rid of that one.

By-the-way, the Double Cab is VW Tropic Orange, same as the owners 2000 GTI. Originally started out white, but the orange is way cooler. It features a custom bike rack in the bed and a custom tow bar on the front so that he can tow it behind his Vanagon Westy (not pictured).

About 25 cars showed up, with a nice mix of air and water. Weather was perfect.

Colors can be deceiving. Looks like Tornado Red.

I knew you were talking about the double cab. It still would be great to take camping. Tons of room in the back. Here is one from the last show. Thought I had more, but no.
