Toy Jam 10 - SoCal New Beetle Club

[VW BEATL]

This past Saturday 10/8/2011, members from The Southern California New Beetle Club gathered together for our annual event of Toy Jam celebrating it's 10th year! Toy Jam is a charitable event to benefit Long Beach's Miller Children's Hospital in California. With Police escorts throughout the streets of Long Beach we carabug with our Beetles filled with donated various items to delight the children from a wish list of needed items. What a great cause! Congrats on your 10th year of doing such a wonderful thing! Great pics and videos as always Rachel! I was able to see them at work this time.

I love to watch different kind of Beetles ...
I must mention some notes I made:

* Limo has funny lookin´ front end with lips and big teeth

* Oh boy, I want to win that Jack FM´s give away 2012 Beetle!

* I always like to see modern Herbie (or is the name really
Nerbie...?) I just love that Nerbie & Herbie -pic

* Ha ha, those cow figures are too funny!

* There´s even dancing!

I wanted to do it so badly this year but my family has had a series of illnesses recently that wiped out funds... Hopefully I can finally join you guys next year... I'm out in Riverside and really want to go to a meet of some sort soon

I'm glad you were able to view the pictures at work this time. Don't know if you could hear me or not but I give you a shout out "Hello" on one of the videos as were driving to Souplantation.

Thank you, so glad you enjoyed the pictures. And yes you're correct the owner named his modern Herbie "Nerbie". The old Herbie in the pictures is the actual Herbie in the movie "Herbie Fully Loaded" I should have wrote that down on the caption for the picture.

So sorry to hear about the illnesses in your family. Also sorry you missed Toy Jam 10. There was talk about having a cruise to Solvang in November. So check the SoCalNBC website calendar now and then and maybe it'll be announced soon. Hope to meet you then or sooner at a gtg.
