met my first org'er! 2 person (+ my mom) GTG at IKEA, schaumburg, IL

Even with the addition, it is the best layed out IKEA I have been too. (and I have been to quite a few, even a few in Europe. (yes, I like Ikea LOL)) Ellen is very lucky to be within minutes of it...

If you fly into O'Hare, you can see the blue and yellow building ... its really a funny site.

I need to come visit my hometown again, this thread is making me sad! Maybe for my 10 year High School reunion... which is coming up in a few years (maybe I will be a little more successful by then)

Wow, an IKEA GTG! It's a good thing that they built a second one in Bolingbrook, otherwise you two might not have had enough room to zip around the parking lot. I use to live around the corner from one in Germany many years ago. The last time that I went to the Schaumburg IKEA it was nuts - waaay too many people for me.

Breez, you may want to put a hold on hopping on a flight. The weather here may send you running back to AZ swearing to never come here again. It's been raining and a little chilly. Then again, maybe you need a rest from the "dry" heat. The weather is supposed to improve by this weekend.

Hahahaha, I guess I stick to the 103 degree weather we had today (yes, its dry heat).

I was at that IKEA for the grand opening, ummmm it was extremely special, just a little busy LOL.

yeah, i wondered why you hadn't commented on this thread! i am so glad i had my first .org (mini) GTG too! i was very happy that day! what's not to be happy about! shopping, ellen, IKEA, food! woot!

Congratulations Erin & Ellen on meeting your first .org-er! I know it's a bit of a challenge for people who don't live real close to others, but isn't it neat to put a face & personality with the username?

I noticed the escalator for shopping carts...while I bet that one can be fun, the IKEA @ Atlantic Station near us has a wide and long sloping escalator so people can take their carts with them.
