Default met my first org'er! 2 person (+ my mom) GTG at IKEA, schaumburg, IL

well, i met my first org'er today! i am soooo excited! today, i met ellen (LNZBUG) at IKEA in schaumburg, IL. we met for lunch and took some photos in the parking lot. i was ellen's first org'er she's met, too!

i had a GREAT TIME meeting her, having lunch and chatting and picture-taking in the parking lot. ellen is very sweet and so easy to be with. ellen, i hope to see you again sometime. i had such a nice time and am so glad we got together!

now, for all of you who have no idea what ellen looks like, here ya' go!

oh, and i got to zip around in the parking lot in Chip, her 2001 turbo and whoa! whatta ride! i needs to get me one of them turbos! i think my mom thought i was nuts.

thanks again ellen!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Hi Erin! I had alot of fun meeting you and your Mom today! I wish we had better weather and more time! I'm so glad I could meet someone as bug crazy as me. Erin you were the first non family member to drive Chip, I hope it was as good for you as it was for him Next time I promise he'll be cleaner.
Now I have your # so next time I'm out by you I'll give you a call for another quick GTG.

I live about 15 minutes from Ikea so I can shop anytime. I just went to meet Erin and Curby. We had a good time and I think we're doing it again after, knock on wood, she gets her house. We'll have to get some more Chicago area orgers to show up too.

not nearly as much! only about 5 items. curby was LOADED with tons of stuff. i can't even remember all the stuff i got. i am keeping it all at mom's until i move since i don't have any storage space right now.

IKEA is so awesome. we're already planning a 2nd trip, probably sometime in july! there's tons of stuff i wanted to get, but i won't know how it's going to fit until i get into the house and measure things.

I have such fond memories of that IKEA... I grew up near that area where Ellen lives, and I was actually at the friends and family day event before that IKEA even opened and was there for the grand opening because my highschool sweetheart worked there.

One day on my way to meet him for lunch I hit a pot hot the size of my jetta! I bottomed out and blew out a tire and a complete rim. I remember having to sit in that parking lot having my boyfriend help me change that tire because I wasnt strong enough to get the donut out of the trunk! (yeah, my GLX only had a donut LOL)

(Anyways, I remember that IKEA well. I havent been back to Illinois or chicago since Fall of 2001.)

Thanks for letting me have a memory lane soap box moment....

I am glad you guys had fun!

I KNOW, when they built the IKEA out here in Arizona, I kept telling my friends about the escalator at the woodfield/shaumburg IKEA...

It was a real bummer, they didn't do the escalators out here!

This Ikea is huge! you could shop for days and not see it all. The shopping cart escalators are a sight to see...unless your cart gets stuck.
