Yeah, I know, pathetic. I only have the dealer picture for my car as of yet. I definitely need to remedy that soon.
Unfortunately, the driver(s) that had it before me didn't really take care of it well so there's a lot on the "To-Do List." But she's beautiful and she's all mine .

I've been lurking here since I bought the bug three weeks ago, but finally decided to join and get out in the open. It's been fun and tormenting to read the forums; cool because I get to see what I can do to my car to make it look awesome, irksome because I do not have the money nor the special magic genie touch to get all I want done in a moment's time. Creative impatience, what can I say .

I haven't done any mods to it yet, but I have sanded that stupid rubber crap off the door grab handles. Dunno where I'm going to go with interior yet, but we'll see. I promise more pics soon, though they won't be very interesting. *shrugs*

Any respectable bug needs a name, but I have had trouble trying to come up with one. Either I'm really picky or just brain dead. Oh well. Something will hit me soon.

...
~Because updates are nice....~

Well, I do declare my bug now has a name. "The Skeebenwagen" It just kinda stuck one day lol.

Current Mods:
+oo1: White dash kit....well, almost. It's being shipped as we speak.

Prospective "Once-my rich-aunt-dies-&-I-get-a-bunch-of -money-crap-i-wish-i-really-had-a-rich-aunt" Mods & Fixes:
-oo1: LED black tailights
-oo2: Wet Okole seat covers
-oo3: Window tint
-oo4: Body decal or striping
-oo5: New sun visors since my existing ones are broken.
-oo6: Fix that dang gas cover! Doesn't stay down.
-oo7: Fix my possessed wobbly speedometer.
-oo8: Fix my possessed wobbly cruise control.
-oo9: Blaupunkt Key West MP36

I have modest goals heh.

Default Black Pearl?

We were going to call ours Black Pearl but I just wasn't keen on naming after the Pirates movie, my wife loved the idea, so I came up with Volktron for ours. It's creative and different. Anyways welcome to the Org and any help we can give ya let us know. I think the most cheap and easy mod to start off would be the clear markers and turn signals. It only requires about a minute of your time and a screw driver. Look into it, it makes a huge difference my friend.

Thanks for the welcome

Chaddicus, I saw the clear markers on yours. They look spectacular. Its amazing how such a simple thing can make a big difference. They're going on my wishlist. I saw some awesome back brake lights on aiwana.com too. Whoever had the buggy before me backed into something and cracked the right brake light and it doesn't fit right. Oh well, what can ya do.

Clear corners are only like $17 on eBay. That's where I'm buying mine!

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Welcome and enjoy your bug!
The name will come to you... just let the beetle tell you. I never "named" my Ladybug per se, we all just started calling her that right off (my family I mean). Please hang around and share stories of your bug with us. And pics, we MUST have pics

...by the way, love your avatar

Question

Ok, so if I understand this right (sorry if I sound like a noob), I can get clear markers, but they have to have the yellow bulbs in them to be legal?

I think so. I've been running with blue in mine for a few months now. I think it's cause I'm an old lady that they don't pull me over I know it's rice but I just blue. Welcome to the nut house skeeby.

Ok for the markers or turn signals you just use the existing bulb and housing with the clear ones. it's really easy and the legally point has never been a problem. Cops don't really pay attention to it I guess.

When I took the amber lens covers off I had an amber bulb also. The coloring was peeling off so I needed new ones anyway. I bought clear and I have a blue cover for the bulb. Kinda like a bathing cap. They were only 2 bucks so what the hey.

Ah I see. Thanks! I think the blue lights are cool. Looks sharp with the other blue-ness hehe. Well I think I just might get me the front and rear ones soon. Am currently saving up for a new stereo, though, so they will have to wait. Mine has most of the buttons messed up and I fell in love with the Blaupunkt Key West MP36: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lUEMVCb...st&i=023KEYW36

That's sharp but it lights green and our bugs light up blue. If it won't bother you then go for it.

Yes it lights up green, but it lights up four bazillion other colors too its one of the features and that's why I like it because I wanted the lights to match.
