Default Mr_Eddys 2000 Silver Arrow GLS 1.8T "Sluggo"

to dnyed for correcting the color. (can't VW pick a color and stick with it )

Well here it is. Completely stock except for the PhatBox and one of masanski's custom mounts in the back.

I call him Sluggo because I think he looks a bit like a bulldog. Short stubby nose and wide shoulders. And Sluggo is a good name for a bulldog.

Took a bit of time and cleaned it up good, so all the road rash from the previous owner is showing, especially on the front end. I think a lot of it is from the ill fitting bra he had on it. It also looks like he couldn't quite judge where the lower front corners were.

Oh well, it's still a great ride.

I bought it in mid June with 71000 miles, and I've just broke 80000. I live 60 miles from work and do a lot of traveling for onsite support of the projects I do, so the miles rack up quick.

Doesn't it look good without a front plate

Took the extra time and cleaned up the wheels.
They look a lot better, but there was rock hard crud built up on the inner rim and in the corners and some of the paint is chipped off.
Can't really see it in these pics though.
Also had the front right VW emblem pop off when I pulled off the center cap. Better at home than on the road.

Smile

I know, should have moved into the shade

And here's a few pics showing both our Golf and Beetle.

Beautiful New Beetle!

I think the silver color for year 2000 NB's is called "Silver Arrow". Have fun with it!

Thanks all,

I'm thinking of doing some modest styling mods. Got to look around a bit to see what's available. I've never done styling mods, just engine and suspension work/rebuilding. So it should be fun.

First thing I have to do is get the paint in order. The front has a lot of road rash and some damage from a bra as well as broken turn signal housings.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Nice work. Your NB looks great. You should get together with Erin and Curby for a photo op.

Haven't done anything. Unless you count new tires, a lot of oil changes (Up to 139000 miles. I average 600 miles a week) and two more VW hub emblems missing.

That's not completely true. I did put clear corner lights on the front, and have them for the rear, but need to get some red bulbs so I haven't put those on yet.
