Default Lugnutx5's 2001 NB Sport Silver - Meet Sport

Just joined and thought I'd post some pix.

Sport is a silver 2001 NB Sport with 61,000 miles, stock except for side moldings and Michelin PS2 rubber (if that counts).

Repairs to date: oil filler tube, arm rest latch, sunroof drains (x2), o2 sensor. Change oil every 3,000 miles and one tire change at 48,000. Currently have another O2 sensor and air bag codes on. (must get those fixed before the snow flies

I just got done with the fall cleanup: wash/clay/wash/klasse AIO (x2)/ and Klasse Sealant Glaze (x5). Alot of work but Sport loves it! Took him out yesterday AM and shot a few pics:

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Super clean!

Think u'll be swapping out those PS2's once the temps drop and the powder falls.

Billsbug, Surprised you didn't catch the Florida plates. Moved back to Utah in february and you're right. PS2's + snow are not a good match. It's more like skiing than driving.

Toad, I use a bra for highway use and since Sports been across the country twice, its come in handy. The sports seats are the most comfortable seats I've owned. You can drive all day and still feel great. They're even better than the Recaro's I had in my old BMW.

Yes Klasse products are great. Unbeleivebly long lasting, but I think Chester (or has he decided on sprockets?) would look better with NXT or p21S. Reds just look soo much better with that carnaba (or NXT) wetter than wet look.

Here's one more that I just couldn't resist.

Five year old paint can still look pretty good!

Yup, I used NXT last year and that stuff is awesome. It's really easy to apply and remove even compared ot hte klasse, and it just smells awesome, i could just sniff the bottle all day. But I have to say that using onlu Klasse aio, it makes my car look even better than the NXT, but it doesnt last as long as i hoped, and doest repel tar that well. But then again, i never plugned into thier glaze yet, but i really want to.

Wow! Spiffy pictures!

Lighting, reflections, everything. That's one cool Beetle.

My Moody Blue wishes it had the Sport seats (anyone out there have a beige set they're itching to get rid of?) and the side rub strip.

Thanks dnyed, Willygood and all. Dubs are a blast.

I just wish there was a cheaper and more robust aftermarket for NB's. Sports' older brother is a 1990 Miata. There is a ton of high quality aftermarket products that are much more reasonbly priced. I've goota say that there are some awesome tricked NB's on this forum though!

My daughter got her learners permit today . She wanted to learn on a stick, so I took her out in Sport for her first driving lesson. She only stalled it once. I was impressed.

When we got home she started playing around with this pic. The title is NB YES.

Great NB Sport What a shine. Looks new.

I have not made any changes to my 02 Sport, except for K&N air filter. Came with a pinstripe.

I have the Blk interior. 19K miles just a babe. Seats are the best. I like the brakes also. Rarely rev bug above 3/4K.

Kids nearing driving age. My wife learned stick in a Carmin Ghia. Was wondering how the NB acted on long trip. Almost had a chance to go from NYC to Massachusetts but had a turbo air diverter leak.

Congrats joining and good luck!

Thanks Rich. I've driven Sport from Utah to Florida a couple of times. This car is great on long trips. The seats combined with the turbo and just the "FUN" factor make it a blast on the road. 10-12 hours in the seat and no fatigue. I love it!

With the back seats down you can fit an unbeilvable amount of stuff in this thing and it really likes 85 - 90 mph with gas mileage between 28 - 30.

BTW, I just topped the AIO/SG with a coat of P21S wax. (SG needs to cure for approx. two weeks). I've never seen a finish that can compete. WOW! Give it a try.

Glad to see you here. The org is a great place. Good people and great info. Has saved me about $1500. so far!
