That's my precious Roary! (with my little veedub lover in that last pic). I've been a bug-lover always, pointing out every single one we drive past since I was a child, played "zip zap zowie zap"--- anyone know that game? Most people I know haven't heard of it. I had a magazine advert for the new beetle on my fridge since 1998, until my husband brought home Phoebe, my 2000 black gls nb in january of 2003. Never thought I could love a car that much! She became one of our family. This past July she kept my son & I safe when we lost control of her and rolled her. Phoebe was totalled, but we are completely safe. Spent a month crying over her and feeling like I had lost a friend, searched for another beetle, none were "right", almost decided to just buy a new one, then spotted Roary from the road in the dealership parking lot late one night, still dirty from just being traded in and fell instantly in love. She came home with us the next morning and we've been incredibly thrilled with her. I've been lurking on the org for a bit, learning lots and loving everyone's beetles. We intalled Roary's wing ourselves, bought altezzas from a fellow org-er and installed those ourselves too (with the help of a how-to thread here) So lots of thanks already everyone!

Things we plan on doing so far:
*Fixing roary's poor wheels. 2 vw centercaps are already missing (phoebe lost all 4 of hers.) & 1 of the wheels has deep scratches in it.

*painting inner door handles (inspired by how beautiful breez's BB looks!

Oh, very pretty NB's - both of them!

I have a '99 1.8t that's techno blue, so I really like the color of Roary! I wish my Speedy had that same spoiler.

ohh another techno! awesome! I bought the spoiler on ebay, got a really good price & they painted it too. Extremely easy to install (if you don't count the fear in my heart when the drill went into her. hah!)

Yeah, claybar is awesome and definitely worth all the hard work.

I just saw what you said about the handles!!! Thanks for the compliment !!!

Anyways, go for it!!! It was easy to prep, and paint... just followed Johns (fineexampl) thread. I how they turned out.

I ordered the OEM paint from the dealership, it took a few weeks to order/ship, but well worth the PERFECT techno blue match!!!

PS: more pictures please. (maybe some interior shots of that hot GLX?!?!?! I just love that tint, BB should be getting new tint by the end of the year, Im totally going darker!

breeze! sorry, I haven't been here in awhile, just saw you posted this! I'll definetly have to read the how-to thread and give Roary those gorgeous handles!! Roary's kinda dirty right now, rainy week! But as soon as the sun shines again, I'll clean her up and post some more pics, interiors too

Did BB end up getting her tint? I'll check out her thread to see what's happened to her. She's definetly my favorite non-roary bug!

Roary update!

***I think I finally found her some new shoes! If they fit? A friend is selling his old jetta wheels and they are much, much nicer than what we have, with good tires on them as well. I'm just hoping they'll work for a bug too.

***a few issues: Roary's cd changer broke. it won't latch in correctly. very, very sad then I took to using my ipod instead, which was wonderful until my cigarette lighters both quit working!! someone told me that's probably a fuse, so I'm going to research where the fuses are, etc. and thirdly, the sideview mirrors only go up & down now, not sideways. Other than those little things, Roary is just as wonderful as ever. I love her so, so much and feel so lucky to have found a second beetle that I adore so wholeheartedly.

You guys keep it up and you'll be having a spoiler mod shop working. That's the spirit though. We've got to look out and help one another. Heh, a good rule in life too. imagine that

Did you ever get those Jetta wheels? I'm curious as to which ones they are! I'm kinda partial to the Jetta wheels myself
