Eh, it was mostly wives there. Other than the camera(wo)man. But we kind of needed all the women there. Because of the men. Or something like that.

They're cool chicks! We enjoy their company! Even when they were sitting off to the side while we boys got oily and greasy.

BTW, some pics that I was going to try to take last weekend, but didn't work out, may come to fruition tomorrow! Hooray!

I took so long to type my reply that you got in your post!

It would be so cool to get you out here some time. Actually, we're having our club car show this September...

Aircooled and watercooleds...

Maybe the kids could learn to drive a couple of other vehicles...

OMG! Baldy is trying to get Yul to learn to drive the Fastback and he wants no part of it. We're trying to build up the little guys confidence, but so far it's slow work.

We've got our big VW Classic in June and I'm entering, dammit! lol

I finally got to bring my little bit of recent American Airlines advertising materials into close proximity to some real American Airlines history.

To start off, here are some pictures of a 1937 DC-3, one of American Airlines' originals. This was on base the last couple of weeks for some polishing and paint touch ups. I caught up with it at R.L. Jones airport in Jenks, OK.

The pilots and the owner of the FBO that was hosting the plane were nice enough to let me get my car near by for a photo shoot!

I got the color film out just as they were rolling it away, so I didn't have a chance to get the wings on the car for the first few pics, but here's what I got of Beetlemania next to the Flagship Detroit.

I brought my Grandma with me (that's what I call my Nana, Nike! ). She was telling me about the AA DC-3 she flew on with my uncle and my dad when my dad was only 1 year old! She really enjoyed getting to see one again. She said the interior was even the same setup! This one held 21 passengers in 7 rows. You can learn more about this plane at http://www.flagshipdetroit.org and maybe catch up with it at an airshow this year!

Here are a few pics of the MaxiPod, AKA Paul McCartney, with the Flagship Detroit!

A quick interruption, while driving through the airport I saw a Piper Cherokee 140, which is the only plane I've had the opportunity to pilot so far, so I stopped for a pic with that.

These last few shots I took with both the car and the airplane in focus. I really can't decide which perspective I like more.

What do you all think?

This last one I had to get quite a distance away to play a little trick with my 300mm lens. I was pretty far from the plane, with it out in a restricted area, so I decided to optically compress the distance a little bit.

Here's the last for now!

Wow!
you have quite some talent there
Where you ask us the question which pic is better, I'd say the one where the NB is focused.
You have a good eye on pics. Me is jealous!

I had a feeling the members here would prefer the pictures with the Bug in focus.

Thanks so much for the compliments, Marcia!

And Gina (is it okay that I didn't capitalize all the letters? ), I really liked that one, too. I couldn't believe the clarity and color saturation from this roll of film!

Thanks for the replies!

Hehe, thanks, Chrissy!

At first I didn't have the wings on the car in that area. Then I decided I didn't want to get in trouble for having a non-airplane in that area, so I decided it was back to the MaxiPod.
