Here I am with the DFW crew near the end of the '04 Texas New Beetle RoundUp. We did a cruise to Dealey Square in downtown Dallas, and I was perfectly framed by Bugs! That's me with my arm out. Hooray! Oh, I mean, Yeehaw!

And I'll end (for now) with a picture of me and Abbey, from the DFW club, lined up to go to the drive-in movie after the show. Why must I make weird faces for cameras? I refuse to just smile.

There's no apostrophe before an 's' when you're talking about the plural version of a word. "I took some neat photo's!" is NOT correct.

Thanks, 'toine! Gosh, those were some crazy nights. I really wanted to sit down. Why must I wait!?!

I never can remember, were they still open by the time we got there?

And then Crystal this year. Oy, that Steamer Pack was insanely heavy! Kind of like my gut after eating all but about 5 of those burgers.

Well, as long as I'm back here, I might as well post a few pictures. Here are some of the car from my big 4-month long road-trip a couple of years ago, while I was laid off. The whole thread was on the old forums.

Here I was outside of Colorado Springs, with Pike's Peak and the Air Force Academy visible in the background, and then another as I was about to cross into New Mexico. The mountain almost fit perfectly!

I made a few scenic stops in Arizona, too. My cousin and I went to see Meteor Crater, and this was the view from about a mile away. You can kind of see the 3-story tall visitors' center. That was a big ol' hole! And then, the next day, at Grand Canyon, an even bigger hole!

Sorry! I completely skipped over answering you! So here you go, 3 answers!

I got the wings from American Airlines. They had been using a silver New Beetle to advertise their website, and after a year of touring the country they sold the car, leaving them in storage for over a year. I said I'd be happy to give them a home outside of storage. Hooray!

They mount kind of like the trays at drive-in restaurants, like Sonic, only with more tint-scratching power. There are 2 metal brackets on each wing that slide into the window channel. The wings only stay on the car in a stable manner in a max wind speed of about 40 MPH. I only use them at static shows and in slow parades.

The broccoli was left over from a camp I was helping at. Someone just decided to have fun with it. And then I decided to have fun with horrible puns! Get it? Spoiled? Reception?

Yeah, Erin, I'm having the same trouble while trying to pull pics from that thread. At least the pics of the car (this is the NB Pics forum, after all ) are getting over here. Speaking of which, here are a couple more!

I made my way to California, passing a sand dune state park. So I pulled over for pictures! I met up with the SoCal New Beetle Club, who I toured around the Angeles Crest Highway with. Bruintoo was right behind me and snapped a shot along the way. Thanks, Ben! We stopped for lunch, and I just couldn't keep from capturing this view. And before I headed north some more I stopped by TVA and got this shot next to Switch before he changed to the current look.

After I left Yosemite National Park (at which I took no pictures of the car!), I headed back coastward to San Francisco.

Here's Alcatraz in the background, and I've already been corrected about which way my wheels are turned.

And then one from my car, rather than of it, while driving across the Golden Gate Bridge.

And from the other bank, with said bridge!

The last stop in-state was supposed to be camping under the redwoods, but all the campsites were taken, so I had to get a motel room. But I still got pictures with the trees the next morning!
