To let Deb know, I talked to Justin tonight on the phone, it seems that everyone in the accident is okay (Justin did ask that everyone was okay first, I promise!) The owner he sold Jenna to, walked away just fine because Jenna did her job!
I am just amazed that Justin came across the ad for Jenna and knew that it was her... I think that just may be fate that he found her newspaper ad. I am so glad everyone is okay, and I know that this is really tough on you Justin. WE are all here for you, thats what org is all about, no mater if you are able to being Jenna home or not.

What's the deal? Is Jenna coming back home? *fingers crossed*

To my understanding, Jenna was purchased by Justins friend who has a "parts" beetle ready to go for repairs.
Justin said he had pictures, hopefully with this "bump" he will post her pictures. |

OK, time for an update I suppose.
![]() Jenna passed the rebuilt vehicle inspection, hip hip hooray! First try too. Many weeks of 3am nights were spent by my buddy Mike (who purchased the car), my buddy Darin (who provided us with his garage and food and beer...thanks!), and I...but we did it with no outside help save for a small frame alignment and a suspension alignment. Final damage toll was $1876 in parts not able to be acquired from the wrecked Turbo S, which is not too bad at all. Mike ended up having to purchase a floorpan and that was a killer for us as we had to wait for 3 weeks for it...but we were able to finish everything else in the meantime. This was a huge labour of love for all of us, and all 3 of us were so close to Jenna before the accident, and are closer to her after it. This project strengthened our friendships in a big way. When one of us couldn't do something, the other two would step in and help. We also did some modding to Jenna while she is devoid of paint right now. We retrofit OEM bi-xenon headlights and washers into a Turbo-S front bumper, as well as shaved the side marker lights in both bumpers. Also, we finally installed that SDI intake and FMIC I purchased way back when. She also got some Turbo-S seats again, as well as Turbo-S door and side panels, lower interior pieces, and console. We also decided to finally upgrade her turbo for good as well. She now has a GT22V turbo and a full 3" exhaust from the turbo back. We are awaiting software from Rocketchip, but for now, his Stage3 software will do. We have a CEL due to a sensor not on the new turbo that was on the factory turbo, but the new programming will address that.We have yet to paint Jenna (we ran her through primed), but we will be keeping her CyberGreen...but with more metal flake this time around. While we are painting her, we will reshoot the interior pieces Reflex Silver to match her new interior. She also got a set of 17" Delta X rims...she looks just like a Turbo-S now! ![]() It is finally nice to see her on the streets again, albeit without makeup...but we will be addressing that very soon. However, a modder's work is never done, and my buddy has informed me today that he is shopping his 6spd Turbo-S transmission for a TDI 6spd from Europe. This should handle the planned 360 lb/ft the upgrades should net. Preliminary testing reveals clutch slip and tirespin. ![]() One last thing: once the car is completed, my buddy will hopefully hop on the org and make a post in here from his end. I'm sure just as much BST was put in by him as me, if not more. When we would leave at 3am, he would still be saying "15 more minutes," so I have to wonder how much sleep he actually got the past 7 weeks! Once we got Jenna drivable, I was able to drive her to my work and we could throw her on the lift to finish her after hours. So a big up to my dealer where I work...you guys are the bomb and saved the project...we couldn't do anymore on jackstands! Now that Jenna is 90% done and road-worthy, we can all spend time with our own individual projects and girlfriends. I know I have a Cabriolet I need to button up myself, as well as a very pretty young lady to tend to. ![]() I waited until Jenna passed the rebuilt inspection for one reason: I wanted her story to have a happy ending. I didn't want to end this thread on a sour note, y'know? Once she is painted and I post pics, I will have this thread locked and let her new owner continue her legacy here should he choose. The torch has passed from me to him. |

Woot Woot!
New TDI 6speed gearbox is in! We're pushing 2000rpm at 58mph now, and not only that, the stock used TT225 clutch is holding up well with the massive torque! We ended up finding a TT225 in the junkyard and pulled the starter, clutch, flywheel, axles, and the speed sensor. However, Da Snappeh also benefitted from this trip as well, recieving a couple key parts for its own project as well. We laid down the first few coats of paint last week before I left, and I'm thinking that by now the car is done and should be ready for final steps. We're hoping to debut her at H2O Int'l in Maryland on September 24th, but the rims/tires we want are hard to come by (BBS RC's in 19x8). We may just go for the OEM TDI-S look for now, but we really wanted those rims. Just giving another update as I recieve calls. |
