Should be blue IMO. You can get a little blue translucent condom thingie that goes over the bulb. I used a red one on my temp gauge backlighting.

hey Fowvay, so her is an idea, you should put blue LEDs in the back of the boost guage, and put little dimples in the center of the needle and paint it silver so i looks more factory.

Already thought of that years ago and I even have the extra needles from my old gauge cluster. The OEM dimpled needles can not be installed becuz the VDO gauge housing is sealed tight, doh!

If that is so, how is it possible that you can switch out the faces??
