Love your car! It's not over the top, but it still stands out. Where'd you get the engine cover? I've had a thing for yellow cars since I saw a yellow 911 (with chrome rims) on the front cover of European Car (I think it was called VW & Porsche back then).

The engine cover is the one that came with the car. I just made a few modifications to it

I finally got around to taking a close up picture of my Winter rims. So instead of some file footage or side angle... here is what they look like.

Gee whiz... It sure took me long enough to get around to doing this but finally after 4+ years of ownership I got off my butt and ordrered Pomelo's birth certificate. Now I just need to get it framed.

hehe it took me 4+ years to get my phone, my vin and the phone number in the same place at the same time.

PS... I love your avatar. My poor departed "Putzel" (dachshund) showed my border collie that face many many times when he tried to steal her food.

We just got around to getting a frame for Skittle's birth certificate. We found it in a box under a bunch of stuff Now it will probably take a few months to end up on the wall

I said earlier how I like how everything flows together...after today, I can say that's definitely the case. I officially cannot own a 1.8T now as I have too high of a standard to compare them to...

Excellent job Tom...there isn''t much more to say. :O)

PS: she's the most fun i've ever had with 4 cylinders in my entire life. :O)

Just a couple of new pictures. The first one is of my Alpine 9807 Headunit lit up at night. The second one is just a cool gauge cluster shot.

i still can't get over how shiny your painted pieces are. (as witnessed in the newest cluster shot)

im gettin ready to paint a lot more of my interior and i was wondering...

- how many coats of color and then clear did you use?
- what kind of polish did you use? (and how many coats)
- where do i get crazy-fine grit (2000 i think you said a while ago) sandpaper?

the job i did a while ago is still holding up, but it could be better.

those are some really clear shots you've got there...does the reflection of the speedo ever annoy you while driving at night? It is so cool that you got it that shiny...almost makes me wanna paint my stuff!

I don't really remember how many coats of color I laid down. I just laid them down super duper thin and when I had good coverage I stopped and started the clear coat. Clear coat... probably 3 coats laid really thin.

Then a very light sanding with 400,800,1500,2000 Good ole fashioned red Turtlewax rubbing compound and then Mequires number 7 show glaze. I waited 3 months before waxing. I figure two of those coats of clear went good bye during the color sanding but the final results are spectacular.

It doesn't annoy me a bit... heck 99% of the time I don't even notice it. My wife isn't bothered by it either...
