I seriously love eBay at times like this. A great seller with a massive inventory and insane prices that are always way too good to believe. $60 each plus $22 each shipping. Try finding brand new 215/35 19's cheaper even going with Nankang or other no name brand tires. Avon is a super respected top tier tire manufacturer known world wide. So really I'm rather pleased.

64,400 miles update

I pick up Pomelo in 2 hours and 38 minutes from her first Emergency room visit. I've owned this 9 year 10 month and 12 day old Beetle for 8 years and 3 months exactly and in all that time she's never left me stranded except this one time. Thanks for being such a good little girl for me. Daddy loves you.

I'm so excited to get you back and that you are healthy again. I promise to replace those front ball joints and upgrade your bushings as a special birthday surprise before November 17.

Tom aka Fowvay

P.S. Link to the full story of "The Stranding"

P.S.S. Here she is looking all beautiful and yet so broken waiting for the Ambulance to rush her off to the Emergency room.

Phase 2: Is now complete. I installed new bushings, ball joints, rear wheel bearings and got a really anal alignment done that included fiddling with the ball joint locations to get the camber even on both sides. Pomelo tracks smooth, rides great and handles better than ever before even with 15" snow tires.

The bonus is that I think I'm on track to break 30mpg for the first time ever!!!
