70,000

Pomelo turned over the big 7-oh today while I was driving down to visit with Growler AND while chatting on the phone with another org member.

On with the updates. Installed my new *to me* summer wheels and also did a bit of brake cleaning and an oil change.

Here are pics from today.

Let me get this straight. You were on the phone, driving 65mph, *and* taking pics, when the odometer turned 70K?

Love the new wheels! Finally, pics!

Very nice, did you rise it alittle or is it just the camera angle?

The offset on these wheels is 40 which makes them sit over 20mm too deep.
I measured and (from the tire edge to the inside of the fender) I have 19.8mm in front and 27.5mm in the rear.
Will be fixing that A.S.A.P. with some 15mm spacers in front and 20mm rear. This plus the camera angle makes it
look like I have a .5 inch gap when in fact I'm actually tucked about .25" in the front.

Specs would then be 18 x 8.5 et25 and et20 and sit as flush as possible and not rub.

Looking good my friend, looking good. Kind of like that "tucked" look myself. Lot's of the Aircooled Cal-lookers have it and that does it for me...

Nice to see that Pomelo is looking so good for the age and miles. Can't wait for August to get here so that I can hang with the Ohio crew again.

Keep the pic's coming Tom

71,758

514.5 miles
14.6 gallons
35.24 mpg

My downpipe broke at the flex pipe so I'm driving around with the 02 sensors completely out in the wind. This should decrease my mileage because the car goes into a rich condition but my mileage is still mega high. I'm loving this hypermiling stuff.
