Car: 1999 GLS Tricked-Ladybug
Exclamation 1999 GLS Pimped-Out "Lady-Bug"

My Ladybug as I like to call her has a custom paint job With 26 different House of Kolour colors it's very unique it also has about 5 coats of House of Kolour clear coat too.

it has 18" Arelli Assasyns Chrome rims--These rims are no longer made and are one of the most popular rims ever produced they are wrapped in 18 Dunlop SS tires.

Another unique feature is the Bullfrog racing hood, there were less than 10 of these in production when I bought this 4 years ago, it was pretty pricey I still haven't seen many of these at all around it's close to one of a kind.

also added was a Dietrich double decker carbon fiber spoiler, this spoiler has 2 layers of actual real carbon fiber and it has a tear away design painted on it.

Other custom body work includes: Custom window tint,Dietrich beetle cup front end, it Also has a Cali style license plate which means it is molding into the trunk lid and turned sideways, Custom made side skirts - 2 seperate side skirts were actually cut and molded together to make these, so they actually are one of a kind!! shaved door handles with a pop lock kit, and last but not least shaved factory taillights with 2001 Honda Prelude taillights with a ghost Honda emblem painted between them, another one of a kind addition to this car, I have had more people comment of loving the lights then any other feature on the car..besides the dashboard!!

INTERIOR

Custom fiberglassed and painted dash to match the exterior..It has a 5.6 TFT monitor replacing the passenger airbag and a 4" flamed tach in the driver AC vent..It also has a Nuespeed triple gauge pod with 3 AutoMeter ghost gauges in it...It also has white face gauges...Also has a chrome fire ext..

There are also (2) 4" Sony screens in the sunvisors..with a power invertor hidden in the glove box that runs to all 3 TV's..There is also a Panasonic CD player..Also has a Moonroof

UNDER THE HOOD

There is a painted engine cover...painted Nuespeed anti-sway bar...Nuespeed BIG breather..A carbon fiber air intake and filter..Also has a chrome Nuespeed exhaust...

This car has been to 3 shows since it has been painted and complete and it has won best paint at 2 of the 3 inlcuding the NOPI Nationals in Atlanta, GA. several magazine companies were interested in shooting it for a magazine cover.
(maybe someday)

It's a real head-turner in the small community I live in!
I will add more pictures this weekend...........

That's a very 'busy' looking Beetle! I'm not sure what else you planned on adding, but if a magazine is ready to do a photoshoot or publish pictures you've already taken, then go for it.

Living in a small town myself, that car would get physically bashed by the rednecks.

My guess would be to appeal to the Civic tuner types, but it won't work on them either...

There is a lot of work and money buried there, I'm sorry to say that that's exactly what I'd do with that car--bury it.

Wow you guys! To each his/her own! No need to bash it. If this person loves their beetle then they are no different than the rest of us. The just love it in a different way than you would. They must be crazy about their Beetle to put this much time, effort and money in to it. It's not yours and you are not driving it. If they love it and are proud of it then who are you to say it's ugly? Maybe it is to you, but obviously not to them. Even hear of the phrase "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?" This is a site for Beetle enthusiasts. This person is here because they are proud. They didnt come here to get heckled by other Beetle enthusiasts.

OK now for our actual reccomendations:
1. remove all the fake diamond plate on the hood and behind the headlights. Leave all the other custom paint.
Remove the rear of the car including the fenders and replace with either
1. an original rear end
2. an original rear end sporting a custom cover such as the caractre
3. replace rear end with a cup bumper.
and repaint rear end to match all the other custom paint.
dump those eyelids.
on the bright side I really love the wheels and the interior is perfect I wouldn't change a thing in there.
Then we believe you would be ready for photo shoots.

and when I say we, I mean Me.

I think there has been a good effort in this bug but i have some beef. i dont like the tail light conversion. and i have hated the wheels since they are on every other ricer in my town. I also dont like it when people dich safety features in cars, the the air bag for the passenger

i don't care...

it's way more custom than 50 beetles on this website combined.

it's different, and reminds me of a mini truck show...
so why the heck not?

homie went balls to the wall,
and for that (and the Honda emblem and Prelude back end )i dig it.

and i'm a sucker for House of Kolour...
that's what Brenna rocked.

This person has way more guts than me...I could never customize my car in that grand of fashion.

I agree with Amanda, replace the steering wheel or paint the spokes. I do like orange though, the color is growing on me.

Long live creativity...

Wow! Well said Ames. All though some tastes might shock others, comments could be made without the rudeness- I guess. I won't lie, it can be hard sometimes to letter-rip. With that being said....

Glad you're digging the end result. Not my cup of tea, but it's your love and you've got to wake up to it every morning.

One thing is for sure, cross-branding cars with other car embelems= not cool at all. That's like putting a Chevy bow-tie on a Ford Mustang.

And folks spare me the Chevy motors in vintage Fords etc/ 9" Ford rear ends in Chevys smack.

New Beetles are bastardized in the tuner world as it is and placing any other emblem on the bugs don't help matters.

Hondas are cool, I'll give them credit. And yes some Beetles have frustrated owners with their problems (no car brand is perfect), but let each car brand stand on their own merits, emblems and all.

The other mods you've done are acceptable, albeit your tastes.

Congrats on the work you've put into your bug. A labor of love on your part i'm sure. you're an a enthusiast for sure.

Heh, some have razzed my bug; I can throw a little empathy your way:

Welcome to the org. And yes you're welcome here. Don't mind us- we can be like Buttermilk sometimes- cold and bitter. Okay, we're equal opportunity...Coffee- hot and bitter

alot of people cross-brand...
especially in the super custom automotive world.

heck,
i was going to do it with my beetle.
that thing was going to get a Honda K20 motor and tranny swap.
that's how much i hated the stock 2.0 engine and tranny.

but no matter what, i think the airbrushed Honda emblem and Prelude back end is rad.
i just think there are alot of haters here.
