hey thanks alot

there has nt been that much of a custom bug scene over here, just a few hardcore people that have been doin their stuff for a while, the majority of beetles just have aftermarket bolt on stuff, and the choices over here are limited at best, so you see a lot of the same old same old mods, but the cars become more affordable now,so more people are starting to seriously mess with them
personally im just trying to make mine look that bit out of the ordinary
dont think it ll ever be 'finished' per se

are you aware of either of these two uk bugs??
they are probably the two best custom bugs in the uk at the moment imho
if either pull up at the show n shine next to you ,pack up and f**k off
the level of detail and amount of work in these two esp the black rsi kitted one is off the hook
vicki and grahams 'hernie'

ian(oxford edition)standings 'bugster'

Ok got it - than I've met him in May. Excellent car and awesome interior. We had a nice conversation unfortunately it was raining and cold, so our 'meeting' was very short.

Maybe next year..

Dude!!! I really love the pics you take- Nice job bro My favorite is the yellow bug, double-exposed pic. Looks like it's going into hyperspace or something.

How often do you all meet up for your get togethers?

I was going to say the same thing, not just the pic tho...that bug is hot! That's sooo what I want Smaug to look like, just clean and sweet. I would love to know what corners those are. And the headlights I wonder are just Joeyed?

too many americanisms in this one for me haha
are you talking about this bug?

are corners what we call indicators??? if so they are standard ones tinted and i have no idea what joeyed is?? but the headlights are painted inside,he was the first person i knew to do that mod,
its owned by a friend of mine ,adam and is 'the 'yellow bug that really inspired me to go all out on mine, he has some fantastic custom touches on the car and does all the work himself, the interior is completely trimmed in tweed even the floor and roof!!!

i thought that too as it has such BIG rubber under those arches ,it must be tubbed!!
but it has no roll cage and looks to have full standard trim??i think its a pic taken just after it was finished or it has a removable or hidden plate?? but it looks like street legal to me apart from the plate???
would love to see more pics of it

That would be the one. And yeah I was talking about the indicators. We yanks call them corners, because well...they are on the corners And the paint inside of the headlights is called a Joey-mod here, but I don't know why. I guess the "first" guy to do it here was named Joey.
Do you happen to know what emblem he is using on the front? It looks "hollow" like one off of a different car.

Oh and on a different note, you do fantastic work. I wish I had the skills you have mate!

You've got to get your bud to check in here. My Cup's interior has a tweed headliner, door panels/grab handle card area, and the headrests as well. Please have him check in here or give me a web community that he's involved in. I'd like to see more of his work. Especially now that im about to make the decision to recover my seats. I'm leaning toward the tweed, but have been considering leatherette. Maybe your bud can give me a little inspiration.

Dan you're a asset to this website/community- glad you're here.
